Questions & Answers
100% handmade in the USA. Each Pelle journal is crafted from fine American leather and is paired with a high quality notebook. The 28 lb, linen cover Pelle notebooks are fountain pen friendly. Each leather journal cover can accommodate up to three Pelle notebooks and features a stringed book marker, linen cloth travel bag and extra elastic band (perfect for keeping the journal closed).
Please note: Each Pelle leather journal has its own unique distressed look due to the characteristic and nature of leather. Measures 3.4 inches X 4.9 inches.
I love my Pelle journal! The packaging is beautiful, as is the journal itself.
The notebook insert it comes with is very nice. I was torn between a Midori
Traveler's Notebook and the Pelle and went with the Pelle because it's made in
the USA; the Midori journal is made in Thailand. I'm sure it's very high
quality, but I had to support the hometeam. Midori's paper notebooks are made
in Japan, and I got one of their weekly planners (the passport size), it fits
perfectly in my Pelle.
Also, anyone else trying to choose between the two, I noticed that with the
Midori, the center elastic band's knot is tied in the back of the journal
instead of in the side (or binding area) like the Pelle. I imagine this might
be a bit difficult to work around when writing. Since I have not experienced it
for myself, I'm not 100% sure, but when I saw that, it made me even happier I'd
chosen the Pelle.
I received my journal superfast - thank you JetPens!
Had I known the Pelle Leather Journal would go out of production and become
unavailable, I would have bought many more of them. Sure, the design is so
simple I could make my own version (and I will) but something about the actual
Pelle product is worth the purchase. I will miss my Pelle Journal when I run out
of inserts... I did have the luck of foresight to buy a few extra inserts. I'm
very careful with what I put in them. The leather journal itself will out-live
the rest of the supplies and I will be forced to adopt a different product and
page layout format.
I would like to thank Jetpens.com for exposing me to this product and encourage
them to find a replacement to include in their big giant collection of other
great stuff :)
