I've emptied the brush...
May 9, 2016
I've emptied the brush once of water, and now it's full of a nice medium grey
With water, it works well with basically any ink or watercolor effect I tried. I
didn't get super exhaustive, 10-15mL of water is just not that much. But if
you've only ever used student grade or kid grade brushes, this is a huge
upgrade. You can get wet in wet effects, wet brush effects, and some dry brush
effects. I can't tell if there's a difference between this brush head and the
Pentel Pocket Brush Pen, but they're very similar. Both allow very fine detail,
and with both, I'm not good enough at having a light hand to get the finest
detail (tho after about a year of practice, I'm definitely better than I was).
Filled with ink, it's like a Pentel Pocket Brush Pen where you get to choose the
ink color. The brush can run a touch dry with ink, and squeezing the barrel can
get you quite intense ink lay down, but practice should make it easier. And
there are a lot of situations where having a brush pen in an accent color can
make pen and ink art easier.
I haven't used other water brushes, so I can't compare across brands.
