I love this brush. Just..., February 23, 2011
I love this brush. Just keep in mind that it's not a watercolor brush and it's not really a brush pen either. The brush hairs are tough, they're a soft plastic. My 3-yr-old can mash them but they survive no problem. This brush is mostly good for spreading water around, and for brush lines if you're using an ink (It's nice with paint cakes, ok with tubes). Great flow, just don't squeeze it like you're trying to kill it. Great for water storage too. The plastic absorbs some of the color, so make sure you wash the bristles.

I am not a watercolor painter person at all but this brush made it very easy to handle. Very precise and fun to work with.

Good waterbrush! I can't say I used it all day everyday but i've been able to paint just about anywhere with this brush its a lovely thing to have (the tip is now a bit tinted from uses but this doesn't rub off i assume it has just tinted the bristles)! Its a soft sort of plastic brush and is very smooth. Once the top came off in my bag- i thought it might be ruined because it was so smashed but i squeezed some water into it and it was good as new. Its pretty safe from abuse. If you want to color more areas i suggest getting something larger than medium.

Dry watercolors are best for this kind of pen. Sheet water colors as well. i use sheets of watercolor paper (peerless) and glue them in my wet/dry media sketchbook and basically paint wherever without pulling out a watercolor tray. This set up has been pretty ideal for me.

Anyway- get this pen if you like to paint and go! get multiple different sizes too :)

Really very convenient to just carry around this pen and be ready to paint anywhere. Of course that means I might become that chick who randomly paints around campus...

This review is from Pentel Aquash Waterbrush Pen - Medium - Compact Body
This is straight up my favorite waterbrush. I like the compact size, it's easy to squeeze out more water as needed, but it doesn't leak. It's comfortable in my hand (though I do have small hands - it's pretty short). I need to order another soon, as I am wearing the brush out!

I do wish it came with a plug like the Koi waterbrush, so I can transport it filled in two pieces, to take up less space, but that's my only complaint.

  I LOVE these brushes...., January 15, 2008
This review is from Pentel Aquash Waterbrush Pen - Large
I LOVE these brushes. I've tried a few different brands of waterbrushes, and these are definitely my favorite. The water comes out just right when you squeeze it, unlike some which will squeeze out too little or too much. It's also really easy to refill. And the shape is great because it won't roll off the table. The brush/bristles itself are also the best around. My regular watercolor brushes are pretty much obsolete now because of these Pentel Aquash brushes. The large size is my favorite, but if you're going to be doing extremely detailed work you might want to go for medium or fine.

The best picked up 5 of these =) They might not work good on traditional watercolor paper I use it on Bristol board for coloring not really traditional watercoloring the size of the brush head is equal to like a #5 or #6 brush but it remains sharp after it dries.
It releases water as you paint trace ammounts or if you squeeze it you can release drops of water at a time.
