You must use uncoated card stock, cardboard, or other heavy, porous paper to get the best results with this pen. After you write, the ink separates to create a silver metallic inside outlined with a black, blue, green, pink or violet line (depending on what color pen you are using) on the outside. Interestingly enough, if you color in a larger area such as a square, the outline will always move to the perimeter of the object. Thus the inside of the square will be silver metallic but the outline of the square will have a colored line. Quite interesting ink technology!

These fiber tip pens are great for embellishing card stock, cardboard, notebook covers and more. Great for journal making and scrap booking!

Ten years or so ago, these pens were better made than they are today, and functioned better, but they're still fantastic! And I still Love them!

They do what they are supposed to, I just didn't expect them to bleed through so much on the back of paper.

Great marker. I wish I read the description more thoroughly! I first tried it on regular printer paper and just saw silver, but I tried it on cardboard as it said, and I saw the silver outlined in black better.

I expected a darker "black" outline like the picture thought. It look cool, nonetheless!
And yes, it does smell terrible (really strong) like all other permanent markers.
