I've been using these pens for four entire years - literally all of high school! I use them every single day for every single class, and I'd say I've gone though roughly twenty or so pens (and don't think that the bodies went to waste, I've been using them in a sculpture class!). They're the only pen I'll use. I can be notoriously finicky about the pens I write with and this one passes ALL of my criteria - the ink is a true black, the point is fine, the pen itself is handsome and my hand doesn't cramp after writing a three page essay. I love these beyond words. Absolutely worth it.

This pen writes so smooth and it writes very thin which i like. I thought it would be bad when i stole it from my cousin but it writes neat. Awesome.

This pen is AMAZINGU. Not just amazing, but AMAZINGU!!!! (Lol rly.) So, I currently own 3 of these pens. They are all retractable- 1-0.5mm pen and 2-0.7mm pens. They write so smoothly and I even traded a purple Pilot V5 and an almost dried out (shhh!) blue Uni Vision Elite for this pen. It was definitely worth it. Too bad I can only use erasable Papermate pens in 6th grade homeroom this year. :(

This is one of the best pens I've ever owned. The point is small, produces a crisp line and it glides across paper. I'm glad I ran across this on Jetpens. I will be buying them again and again.

It feels amazing when I write with this! But it also glides so smoothly, it's awesome.

Nice pen. Very smooth on all surfaces I wrote on. Good grip. Very generious ink supply - lasted a month where most pens last a week or two at most. Ink is slightly smerable, though.

Smooth writing, and nice ink. Doesn't blotch. Very like the Precise V5's imo. A very good pen, though the cap, to me, is a bit bulky.

I love the loop in the cap! I put a keyring through it so I could hang it off my lanyard at work. It clicks firmly closed and the ink is smooth and rich.

The EnerGel has a great feel in the hand and has to be one of the smoothest .05 mm pens out there. It hasn't skipped yet and I have been using the same one for about two weeks! Also the ink is exceptionally dark and consistent to the very last drop!!

This is a love/hate review. When the pen writes it is smooth and the color is beautiful. Unfortunately the ink frequently stops flowing and writing is impossible. Maybe I received a defective pen, but I've never had a problem with Pentel products before. I would not buy this pen again unless there was some assurance that the ink would flow consistently.

Not a bad pen. Bold and dependable. However it's a bit thick. Not good for precise editorial work (like the Hi Tec C).

Lasted two extremely brief uses then the ink flow stopped, and I haven't been able to revive it. I see that other people have had the same problem with this line of pens. Too unreliable.

I LOVE these pens. The needle-point tip is strong, and it writes a very fine line. I use it for just about everything. The purple color just makes it better!

BEST PEN EVER, I MEAN EVER. As smooth as the best gel pen on earth, and the ink is very vibrant and stands out. LOVE IT

I love the rich color and the extreme smoothness, and the pen is comfortable to hold. The line produced seems thicker than the line on other 0.5mm pens.

Blue colour is very nice. Writes very smoothly with no feathering or bleeding through.
However, you cannot rely on it to produce the bold colour every time. Somtimes while you write, the ink becomes lighter in colour, and may stop flowing. It must be kept tip down for best quality. Grip is fine, and I like how the cap actually "clicks" into place.

Great pen that I bought at my campus bookstore. I'm always excited when I find purple pens because I love purple! It writes smooth. At first I was a little worried when I began writing initially. It skipped a few times, but it has not since then. The color is bold! great buy.
