Pencil Lead Hardness (from Wikipedia)

Pencil lead is graded by hardness: a greater percentage of clay results in a harder lead. H (harder), F, HB and B (softer) are pencils of average hardness. Pencils ranging from 2B to 9B are softer still and are used for sketching; 2H to 9H are harder than average. A common American #2 pencil is equivalent to HB.

In order, the leads are (from hardest to softest) 9H | 8H | 7H | 6H | 5H | 4H | 3H | 2H | H | F | HB | B | 2B | 3B | 4B | 5B | 6B | 7B | 8B | 9B.

The harder the pencil the lighter the mark, e.g. Bs tend to a create darker colour that can be smeared easily.

Best lead I've ever used, almost no breakage, and super smooth dark lines that erases very clean, unless I write with extreme pressure.. and even then the lead does not break!

everyone that I give a piece to when they ask, said its an extremely noticeable difference to their original lead. much smoother and darker (coming from regular 2B users)

This is what i will always get, i got the 2b for 0.7 as well and b for 0.3 since 0.3 evaporates if its any softer.

don't think about it, its the best out there!

Wonderful lead. Provides an ideal darkness without exerting extra pressure while writing, can write lightly when needed, and it simply does not break. I've dropped my pencil a number of times with the lead out, and have not had it break once.

Erases smoothly with a decent eraser. The eraser tip on my Uni Kuru Toga is admittedly a piece of junk, but using the great Mitsubishi e-Knock eraser solves that. This lead partnered with these two utensils makes a winning pair.

Finally, works perfectly well with Scantron. You can leave the #2 lead at home if you want!
