This Kirari brush pen contains bold ink in a gorgeous, light metallic body. Simple and sophisticated, this pen will add a touch of class to your collection. The medium nylon brush tip is excellent for creating dramatic stroke variation in calligraphy and illustrations, and the lightweight plastic body makes the pen easy to carry. This pen comes with beautifully vivid black pigment ink that is lightfast and water-resistant. Also enclosed is a small pamphlet, which contains diagrams demonstrating how to write beautiful Japanese and Chinese characters.

Two black pigment ink FP10 cartridges are included, and additional cartridges are available separately.

This is the Fuji Purple pen. Photos of a pen without the packaging feature the Sakura Pink pen.

Note: The black Pentel Pocket Brush Pens and the Pentel Kirari Pocket Brush Pens are the same except for body color.

My husband got this for...
June 21, 2015
My husband got this for me as it looked like it would be a cute and slightly cheaper alternative to the Kuretake #13. It is not. The one thing that I do really like about this one is the ink. I wish they sold it in bottle form. It does not budge. Period. Completely waterproof. Other than that, the pen body is cute but does not have the quality feel like it seems it should have. It feels cheap. The brush tip looks and seems to respond similarly to the Kuretake on first impression, but after using both of them more extensively this Pentel doesn't stand a chance. The bristles are much less densely packed than the K. and you cannot get as quick and fine lines with it either. The tips of the bristles also seem to get somewhat frayed with continuous use, not permanently, but they don't recover like the K. does. If you want a serious pocket brush pen, skip this and get a Kuretake.
