This is a great lead holder! You can modify this easily to be a revolving pencil set. Take a lead out and measure it, then cut your lead to size. Using a color coding system where the colder the color the softer the lead I now have a lead holder that carries everything from 4B to 6H! Shame there are two photo copier colors. I have no clue how to work those in on the color scheme. If they made a sepia lead I'd use that in place of one.

This is such an amazing...

This is such an amazing product. Once you get the hang of using it, it will become one of your favorite writing utensils. The pencil is still a normal (medium) width even though you can store up to eight leads in it. It takes any kind of 2 mm lead also. I use this pencil mainly for adding color to illustrations, but you can use it for so many other purposes also!

There is no way to take the pencil apart- so be careful and make sure you only use this pencil correctly, or you WILL BREAK IT. Only change the lead after you put the one you used before back into the top of the pencil. Do not let careless people play with your pencil.

Overall, this pencil is wonderful for anyone who wants more in a smaller package (say you have a small pencil case). Also, this pencil does come with 8 different leads.

This pen is great. But,...

This pen is great. But, this price from JetPens stinks. I have bought these for years, and this version is just a souped up version of the lead holder but you can get it for lower on other sites.

The lead works great on thin paper as a highlighter. I use it mainly for scripture marking.

This is a very well-made and sophisticated piece of equipment. It's the perfect, compact alternative to carrying a handful of individual colored pencils, and you can select the colors you need and interchange them. As I have no need for non-repro colors, I switched out the Non-Repro Blue and Diazo Pink for Black and Purple, so this one holder has nearly the full spectrum of colors. There are only two drawbacks to this design that I am aware of: First, like all lead holders, this one 'drops' the lead out the front by gravity. You need to 'catch' the lead as it is released - in your hand or by holding it close to a surface - to prevent the whole lead from being exposed and possibly broken. Second, the colors the holder ships with are permanently printed on the body, so if you exchange them, the printed names will no longer match.

Love this pencil. It's not perfect but great for travel, or use where space is limited. I had to train my toddler on how to use it, releasing and selecting lead. But everyone has mastered its delicate selection use of colors. I have to hide it so it stays with me instead of their book bags.

I have had two these for 10 years. Clear body and so you can see the leads. This instrument is worth every dollar you pay for it. As a MFG Eng I color to communicate. Absolutely a great tool and fun too.

I purchased this multi pen for highlighting and/or marking anything for uni and also because it's awesome! I have changed some of the colours as I do not need the non-copy colours and also brown is not the most attractive highlighting colour. overall I am absolutely stoked with my purchase! would highly recommend!

I have the multicolor version that I use as a highlighter for textbooks, Bible, and other miscellaneous books. Also I use the multi 8 lead holder to sketch in different colors.

It's a nice multi-pen/pencil. First one I've seen with 8 leads. Seems a bit fragile. The color names on the barrel are in 2 point or so font, very hard to read, even with my glasses on.
