The Kerry pencil from Pentel is shaped as a classic American beauty. Designed with the professional in mind, these compact mechanical pencils are capped and have beautiful shiny bodies with matted silver color tips. They are shaped almost as if they should be fountain or ballpoint pens. The cap fits on the back of the pen when in use, and has an eraser (refillable with PENTEL Z3-1 eraser refill) hidden at the top. Very elegant for the work place. Uses 0.5 mm lead.

The cap and body of the Pentel Sharp Kerry are made of different materials and will differ slightly in color.

A very well designed drawing/writing tool. The capping feature makes for a simple solution to protecting the lead guide while still being able to extract lead when in the drawing position. My wife is also and artist so I had to order another Kerry since she took over the first one. Highly recommended

This is one of my favorite pencils- great design, good execution. Not as exotic as the all medal pencils but for comfortable drawing- can't be beat. I'm a storyboard artist and my job is to draw- all day. This little gem delivers- and it's great to travel with due to the cap design. I wish they would make it all medal just for the bling factor otherwise it's the one that's always in my shirt pocket (when not in use)

It's an interesting design for a mechanical pencil. I have no complaints about its function. The look could be improved I think. It would be a more attractive design if the bright metal parts all had a satin finish that matches the writing tip. Also, "Kerry, since 1971, 0.7, Pentel, P1037, Japan" is just too much garbage text printed on the cap that cheapens the overall look.

This pencil is going to take some time getting used to, I can see. The barrel is pretty slick, so I find myself gripping it harder than usual to keep it from slipping out of my fingers. Not sure yet if that's entirely necessary.

The shape of the barrel is very comfortable in the hand, and the lines are sleek and attractive. The lead advance mechanism in the cap is ingenious, and works perfectly. I may have to pick up a few spares.
