Please note that the EnerGel Combo refills are different from the standard Tradio line. The EnerGel refills are much shorter and there is a spring at the end of the pen body to accommodate the reduced refill length. However, you can unscrew the body and give it a few good shakes. The spring can be removed and then standard Tradio refills will fit.

The pen body that has an obsessive following is now available as a popular gel ink pen. The Pentel Tradio EnerGel Combo takes the look of a regular Tradio body and combines it with an EnerGel refill - thus two product lines are "combined" into one single product. Get the best of both worlds by trying out the brand new Tradio EnerGel Combo Pen from Pentel France!

The soft series has rubbery bright bodies.

I love the EnerGel pens....
Verified Purchase
I love the EnerGel pens. The Tradio was a little bit disappointing for two reasons:
(1) The grip is solid plastic (it looks like the very nice rubber grip from the disposable capped EnerGel pens, but it isn't, it's solid plastic).
(2) The cap snaps in place to close the pen, but when open it just slides over the end of the pen without snapping, and it works itself loose within a minute or two no matter how hard I slide it on.
I expected a lot more from the EnerGel series that I like so much.

We learned that the spring...

We learned that the spring in the body CAN be removed by hitting the body lightly against your hand until the spring falls out, thereby allowing you to use the standard Tradio refill.
