Please note that the EnerGel Combo refills are different from the standard Tradio line. The EnerGel refills are much shorter and there is a spring at the end of the pen body to accommodate the reduced refill length. However, you can unscrew the body and give it a few good shakes. The spring can be removed and then standard Tradio refills will fit.

The pen body that has an obsessive following is now available as a popular gel ink pen. The Pentel Tradio EnerGel Combo takes the look of a regular Tradio body and combines it with an EnerGel refill - thus two product lines are "combined" into one single product. Get the best of both worlds by trying out the brand new Tradio EnerGel Combo Pen from Pentel France!

The soft series has rubbery bright bodies.

I love the Energel pens, and wanted a refillable. I love the color and the grip is very comfortable, but I have the same problem as other reviewers: when the cap is posted (placed on the back of the pen), the texture doesn't allow it to properly grip/click in, and it slowly wiggles until it falls off.

While the pen itself works great, this problem has been enough to keep me from using it consistently over the few months that I've had it.

I love everything about this pen except for one thing: when I take the cap off and try to put it on the back of the pen while I'm writing, the texture of the body and the cap don't create enough friction, and the cap tends to fall off. Not a dealbreaker, but it does lead to a lot of time spent looking for my cap.

Really like the eye-catching pen body, but I kept putting this pen aside because the ink flow left a lot to be desired, some blobs and skipped lines, which surprised me for a nearly $10 gel ballpoint! But I tried the lighter-trick mentioned in another review and it started writing beautifully and consistently, even as I doodled long and fast lines to test the pen. Let it sit overnight capped, and the next day it still wrote better than when it was new. If future refills do the skipping and blobbing I will try the lighter-to-tip trick again, for this and other pens! I might even splurge on another body color now that I know how to get it to work well.

appearance of pen - looks like a more expensive pen and feels good in the hand. the outer body does not feel 'rubbery' at all but does have a slight texture to it. it is not perfectly smooth as glass or metal would perhaps feel.

the one nit-pick that I have with this pen, is there is a clear plastic ring that separates the two 'halves' of the main pen body. IMO this clear plastic ring is very cheap-looking. I would have been more impressed with the appearance of the pen had it used a black or 'chrome' looking part instead. the clear plastic ring is just above the 'chrome' looking part in the photos.
