I have had one of these for awhile now, and I can't find anything to complain about.. It writes every time and feels a bit more substancial than a jetstream. I really like a wood feel..

  A pleasant combination..., August 18, 2010

A pleasant combination of smooth writing action and crisp lines. The grip isn't overly squishy and provides adequate support. My only gripe (if I can call it that) is the 'click'... it's on the loud side. Overall great general purpose pen.

I think that this pen is equal or even better then the jetstream this pens grip is alittle nicer and my jetstream does not write as nicley as this one does this is a great pen and everyone should have it.

The ink is not the darkest but is still pretty dark

these pens are the least smooth of the smooth-writing balpoint pens. the one I purchased became scratchy just after a few hours of writing. This pen is not as good as the Uniball Jetstream

Not a bad pen, but it doesn't write nearly as smoothly as the Jetstream. This behaves like a regular oil-based ink ballpoint. It writes well, but once you try a Jetstream, you won't be able to justify this pen in comparison.

It's just average.

This review is from Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.7 mm - Blue Body - Blue Ink
This is the best ballpoint pen I've ever used. The Pilot Acroball writes smoothly, with dark/bold ink, and very rarely globs even a tiny bit. The pen body feels nice and light. Also, even though it's .7mm, since it writes so smoothly, the line is finer than some .5mm pens. It's really a great pen for a great price. Since I found the JetPens site, I've also ordered the Uni-ball Jetstream Ballpoint Pen,.5 mm; the Zebra Espina Pearly Rubber Ballpoint Pen, .7 mm; the Kokuyo FitCurve Ballpoint Pen,.7mm; and the Pentel Vicuna Supersmooth Ballpoint Pen, .7mm. The Pilot Acroball is by far the best of these. My only complaint is that it doesn't come in more ink colors; I really like a variety of colors of ink.

Seems kinda ridiculous..., January 11, 2012
This review is from Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.7 mm - Blue Body - Blue Ink
Seems kinda ridiculous to take time to write about a pen, but that's exactly how much I LOVE this pen! I have looked for the perfect pen and now I've found it. No need to experiment or try anything else out there. Perfect grip, doesn't streak, writes instantly, doesn't glob and isn't too expensive. At least not for the perfect pen! Listen, I work in an industrial environment that dictates I have to have a pen at all times. This pen attaches and holds to pockets of the thinnest shirts and to collars of the thickest t-shirt, which is important to me. In blue or black ink, you can't go wrong. The blue is absolutely the best blue I've ever seen. And no, I don't work for Pilot, the only reason I'm writing is because I want to get the word out so they'll have more sells and continue to carry this pen. That's how much it means to me. I cannot tell you how many times someone has tried to 'walk away' with this pen. Ain't gonna happen! Try this pen, and hey, if you don't like it these guys will refund your money. Gotta feeling that that 'ain't gonna happen'. Cheers.

This review is from Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.7 mm - Blue Body - Blue Ink
The Pilot Acroball has the most phenomenal ink of any ballpoint pen I have ever used! It is smooth, intense in color, and writes the second it hits the page. It is has all the good characteristics of a gel ink, without the drawbacks (smudging, tip build-up, etc.). This is a pen you won’t set aside, or loan!

This review is from Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.7 mm - Blue Body - Blue Ink
I love this pen! It's really light and when writing, you don't even feel it. It's super quiet and the ink always runs without skipping or drying out. It's perfect for quick note-takers like me who need to rely on smooth ink and a light weight. For the quality you get, this product is a really good deal.

This review is from Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.7 mm - Soft Blue Body - Black Ink
I own all the "Smooth" Ballpoints (Jetstream/Vicuna/Acroball/Ink Joy/Dong-A/Surari) and in the 0.7 tip size this one is my absolute favorite. It writes as smoothly as any of the others but writes darker than all of them. If you must have the absolute darkest line possible in 0.7 IMO this is it.

This review is from Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.7 mm - Blue Body - Blue Ink
Once you write with this pen, it's almost impossible to go back to anything else! Like one other reviewer said, I've been looking for the perfect pen, and this is it! Perfect color blue, the most AMAZING write quality, the grip is the best out of any pen I've ever written with, it's well weighted (balanced), and it's refillable! It's hard to describe, but it's the best of all worlds - it's relatively inexpensive, it writes as smoothly as a gel pen without the downsides like smearing and bleeding, it's got a thinner line without being scratchy AT ALL. It really is awesome...if you're looking for 'that pen', definitely try this one...

This review is from Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.5 mm - Emerald Green Body - Black Ink
This pen is my favorite of the writing pens I've purchased! It writes very smoothly and I haven't encountered any issues with skipping. The grip is fairly comfortable and the the pen body comes in a variety of attractive colors. The refills are affordable and I appreciate that I can buy them in all three of the "standard" writing pen colors.
Definitely a recommended buy for people looking for a reliable writing pen to use regularly.

This review is from Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.5 mm - Emerald Green Body - Black Ink
The Acroball pens have become one of my favorites! The grip is comfortable and it writes well. I have both the emerald green pen and the soft blue pens. I can only use black ink pens so the color in the body is a nice touch. I definitely recommend these pens if you are considering it.

This pen is awesome! The grip is pretty comfortable and the ink writes very well. I definitely love the color of the body and grip. I usually can't write with any color other than black or dark blue ink so the various body colors are nice. I will definitely be buying these again!

This review is from Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.5 mm - Red Body - Red Ink
I really like this red pen. The ink rolls out smooth just like the name advertises, and the ink does not skip. I also really like the ink color, it's a nice medium red shade. The rubber grip also has a nice subtle curve to accommodate fingers. I will definitely buy this pen again and in other shades.

This review is from Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.7 mm - Blue Body - Blue Ink
Very good pen!

PROS
-Writes smoothly.
-Very fine line despite being listed as 0.7 mm.
-The visual style of the pen.
-Price is right.
-The feel of the pen is nice and comfortable. It is not too thin and has a decent "heft" to it. Fatigue after long term use shouldn't be a problem.

CONS
-The ink does smudge.
-The color of the ink is a bit too bright.
-Even though the pen does write smoothly, it is not as smooth as the JetStream 0.7 mm Basic Series that I also ordered.

This review is from Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.5 mm - Black Body - Black Ink
While the ink consistency and smoothness is better than the average ballpoint, it doesn't surpass the Jetstream. In my personal opinion, it writes about like a Dr. Grip Center of Gravity; smooth but has little inconsistencies in the lines. Not bad though for $2.50.

Good ballpoint - ink is occasionally scratchy, which I would have expected more from a "smooth-writing" pen.

I'm addicted with excellent stationary.I bought
1.Uni-ball Jetstream Ballpoint Pen - 0.7 mm - Alpha Gel Grip Series - Both Black and Pink Body
2.Uni-ball Alpha Gel Shaka Ballpoint Pen - 0.7 mm - Rose Pink Grip
3.Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.5 mm - Purple Body - Black Ink
4.Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.7 mm - Lime Green Body - Black Ink

In my writing experience, the rank is as follows:
1>3>2>4

This Pilot Acroball 0.5 writes very smooth. If the holding part can be softer or as soft as uni alpha gel grip, it can be better. The 0.7 is not that good to me.

Nice color. I love the grip because of the shape, but it doesn't give not soft, but still comfortable. Better than the .5 jetstream color. Smoother. The jetstreams are stratchy. Overall one of my top pens. I would like more colors in .5. Get it!

This review is from Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.5 mm - Purple Body - Black Ink
My favorite ballpoint pen for note-taking. It writes a consistent, thin, dark line with no skipping or blobbing. The grip and balance of the pen in your hand are very nice. Compared to the 0.7 mm acroball it does have a little bit of "scratchiness," by which I mean that the tip of the pen is sharp and you can feel the pen-paper interaction, but it is minimal. I like a little scratch in my pen for printing but like something smoother for cursive writing (like the Uniball Jetstream 0.7 mm ballpoint). This pen rocks.

This review is from Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint Pen - 0.7 mm - Soft Blue Body - Black Ink
This pen writes a nice, smooth, dark line (which is actually similar in size to that produced by the 0.5 mm acroball, just a little smoother). I really like the grip and the way the pen feels in my hand. However, I am getting a lot of ink blobs when I write. Other reviewers have not mentioned this problem so maybe I just got a dud. I may buy a refill to test that out, but I think I'll be sticking to the 0.5 mm acroball.
