70 ml of high-quality, general use fountain pen ink from Pilot specifically targeted for plunger-type fountain pens. Each bottle contains a simple but brilliant solution to the age old problem of how to enjoy every last drop of your fountain pen. Plunger type suction fountain pens usually need a certain level of ink to be able to suck up ink into the pen body. In normal bottles, as you approach depleting ink reservoirs it gets more and more difficult to suck up ink. Each of these ink bottles easily solves that problem with a simple plastic tube in the bottle. Anyone who has ever filled a water bottle up and placed it upside down into a bowl will know how the phenomenon works, atmospheric pressure balances out so that the water in the bottle remains higher than the surrounding water in the bowl. In the case of this ink bottle, as the ink levels get low, simply tighten the bottle cap, flip the bottle upside down, and then flip it right side up. Ink levels remain higher within the plastic tube than in the rest of the bottle, allowing you to fill your plunger-style fountain pen with ease. Thank you Japan for the great physics lesson!

Where do I start on this ink? Well, it is just about as blue as blue gets, and I really like that (even though I am not much of a blue ink fan!). It behaves very well in my experience, with great flow, about medium wetness, and it isn\'t very hard on pens in my experience. Another great thing you will find about this ink, is its water resistance. I tried to wash it off a Rhodia page, but it held up right along with an Iron Gall ink and a \"Bulletproof\" ink, actually retaining more of its colour than the Noodler\'s \"Bulletproof\" ink! Then we get to the bottle.. It has a huge capacity (70ml), and the \"ink reservoir\" system is a wonderful innovation by Pilot to allow you to suck up every last drop of this ink. Even for the $ I believe this ink is a great value!

I e-mailed JetPens and requested that they suggest a true blue ink. I did not want any green, red or black shading. They suggested this ink from Pilot. I bought the blue and the black. They are indeed true colors and work well in any pen I use them in.
I like the design of the bottles so well, that I keep them on my desk.
My only complaint is that the plastic well inside catches on some of my pens and starts to come out of the bottle when I remove the pen.

This is my favorite blue ink. It flows well, it's definitely waterproof and it's a nice bright blue color without being in-your-face blue. My Pilot Custom 823 has been continuously inked with this ink since I bought the pen in 2010. (I did flush the pen out once just because I thought I should from time to time, but I don't really think I needed to.)

While I like the shade of blue from Pilot's ink, I have read some reviews stating it's a fast drying ink - it's not. I doubt I would purchase it again.
