I own several fountain pens but this is the pen of choice for everyday work. It never fails to work every time I pull it out. Lays down a smooth line and never skips. When you post it, you hear a satisfying click which means the cap isn't going to fall off. Most pens rely on friction to keep the cap on the body. I purchased the converter which fit perfectly and does not leak. Not so with other pens. The only drawback is it goes through ink pretty fast but I'd rather have that than a pen that skips or won't start at all. I would like to see this in a medium nib since I work in maintenance and oftentimes find myself writing or doodling on oily paper. This is the ONLY time the pen does not perform. Other than that I couldn't be happier with it.

This is a gorgeous pen and writes just as well (with a cartridge). I haven't tried this pen with the converter yet. I don't normally purchase pens that are thin and with fine nibs, but this pen is certainly the exception. The pen is light weight, but well balanced- no hand fatigue yet. I am considering purchasing the dark blue Cavalier in the future.

Great Fountain Pen. Thin...

Great Fountain Pen. Thin Barrel, for a fountain pen. Nice Red Color. Solid, well made. The Cap click on when closed, AND with the cap is posted when in use. So, it stays there.

Used as my everyday pen. Depending on paper and ink, the writing/lines can be thick a bit.. but that's not the pens' fault, even then, lines are still thin and nice.

The nib can be forced upon to get much thicker lines if needed, but I prefer fine lines, so this pens is quite good.

I've used it with the pilot black cartridge and Diamine Syrah ink with a CON-20 converter. It works well either way.

This is my very first fountain pen, purchased years ago, and honestly it's still my absolute favorite. The pen body feels marvelous, and has just the right amount of weight without being overly heavy. It writes beautifully and with no ink flow problems or skipping from any of the bottled inks I've used (primarily J. Herbin, but also Noodler and Sailor varieties on occasion).

After so many years of using ball point pen, I decided to go back to fountain pens. I had forgotten how good it feels to use a fountain pen. It makes you think you could write a great novel. I have no intention of using a ball point again. I am very pleased with my purchase. I will buy another one soon.

Writes quite smoothly, I love that it's fine nib, because I use it to grade my student's papers. It has easily become one of my favorite fountain pens!

This pen looks gorgeous. From a writing perspective I'd call it only OK. The fine nib is really fine...almost an extra fine. With my writing style I end up with fairly light lines particularly at the tops of letters...even with known dark ink.

I'll keep it because it looks nice and I don't want to stick Jetpens with a return, but I'd probably look at another option if I had to do it over again.

I am on my second Pilot Cavalier because I love them so much. I use the converter so I can use color of my choice. Being of the female gender, the more slender pen fits my hand much better than the average fp. I also choose the fine nib as I write rather small and usually fast. The pen colors are beautiful, like metal flake paint on a car, and as soon as I can afford it and can find one available I may buy the dual color one, all four colors are superb (maybe not red). If I had one constructive feedback it would be the converter should be a different type, it does not get a lot of ink in it. I will deal though. A beautiful pen for small hands.
