This pen is a pleasure..., March 26, 2011
This pen is a pleasure to write with, however within a week of use, the thread,
that's used to screw the pen body together with the nib and coverter, came off
the pen body. Nothing a bit of epoxy glue couldn't fix. I proceeded to fall back
in love with the pen, however I think that the cap is a bit too heavy to write
with on the back of the pen so I had to constantly hold it in my other hand,
which was quite a chore at times. The pen may also be a bit sensitive to drops
as mine is now ruined because I dropped it. (although the latter was due
entirely to my own clumsyness and has no bearing on my review of this pen) I'm
hoping that this pen comes back in stock so I can get a new one!

I love this pen. It was the first durable fountain pen I ever bought and it has
thus far proven to be my favorite. I went through several pens before coming
back to it, but now this is the pen I write most with.
I am a left handed writer and my hand is larger than average, though not
basketball player sized. The weight and balance of this pen is pleasing. It
helps me to form my letters neatly. The nib is sturdy, and it writes finer than
any other fountain pen I have found. However, despite appearances, it is not
gold (not that one should expect it to have a gold nib at this price). It is
I use a CON-20 converter with this pen. As a left-hander, it is important for me
to have a quick-drying ink. The ink I use in my Cavalier is Noodler's Baystate
Blue, which is a notoriously fickle ink. In fact, it destroyed two of my Lamy
nibs. The Pilot Cavalier, however, has held up marvelously. It is an excellent
product and a fine introductory fountain pen if you have never used them before.

This pilot follows excellency in quality as with its expensive line of fountain
pens. I only wish that the nib came in a stainless steel (color). It is just my
own personal taste that if its gold it should be genuine so that it does not
began to fade and look cheap. But that is simply my opinion....It writes
altogether wonderfully.

I've never had a really expensive pen like the other reviewers but this is by
far the best pen I own. If you're looking for a beautiful pen that writes
everythime you put the pen to the paper this is the pen for you!!

This is the nicest fountain pen I own, better than the super expensive ones. I
love a fine line and this is very fine (hard to find in fountain pens) plus it's
smooth, no skipping. Love how it rights, plus it looks great.
