Regarding the yellow lead:
This is far the lightest one of the Color Eno Series. I've read many times about the yellow ones being too hard. But mine are fine. Smooth to write/draw with.
Just keep in mind that these are no Graphite leads. They break easily if treated too hard.

These pencils are so awesome! I got them for my "grown up coloring book" that has tiny spaces to color. I have to hide them from my kids! :-) I only wish they came in more colors. Yellow is harder to see until you have colored around it with other colors. Still, a fantastic pencil! The pencil is comfortable to hold. The lead lasts a long time! LOVE LOVE LOVE 'EM!!

I bought my first Pilot Color Eno (Soft Blue) some 2-3 years ago and it's still the one I used the most, out of any of my art supplies, to sketch with. About a week later I ended up buying the rest of the colours. They're so inexpensive, I like buying them as presents for my artists friends or recommending it to anyone new to jetpens. The yellow one is by far my least favourite and least used one, the colour is very very light and if anything the lines the lead makes in the paper are more noticeable than the actual lead itself, it's not good for sketching but sometimes I like to use it to fill in areas or add bit of depth to my pictures, you just have to go over the area a couple times lightly.

The pencil is light and made from plastic, none of mine have had a problem with cracking and I haul these guys everywhere with me. The eraser is small and not very useful for erasing big parts, but for finer details it does a lovely job, just make sure you have a bigger eraser laying around when using this pencil. The lead erases very nicely, it will smudge (not streak) if you're rubbing your hand over the picture while you're drawing.

I think everyone should own at least one of these pencils, they're fantastic. Just don't start with the yellow one, haha.

I use this to mark up certain wood species for cutting or other prep demarcations for which this colored lead provides an excellent contract against certain wood types. Works great!

Very happy with color. the lead writes very nice (doesn't erase completely, but i expected that) and the pencil is comfortable. So happy to finally find mechanical colored pencils! :)

Pencil is a 5 but the lead is awful. Hard to see even in the best of light and tends to be very brittle.

It's a nicely made pencil, but the yellow is hardly visible. On glossy textbook paper it doesn't transfer at all.
