  I use colored pencils..., August 11, 2011

I use colored pencils to draft out rough sketches, and these (plus the green and soft blue) work extremely well for that purpose. The color is dark enough for you to clearly see what you're drawing, but light enough for you to draw over it with a regular mechanical pencil and see those lines clearly over the colored ones. The color will also not show up when you scan your picture under the 'grayscale' setting, meaning you can scan in your drawing to show others without needing to bother erasing your guidelines, a big plus if you're lazy like I am.

These leads do erase cleanly and when I use them I don't have to go running to the pencil sharpener every five minutes! :D

The only less-than-desirable thing about these leads is that they seem to run out faster than typical mechanical pencil leads, so if you do a lot of drawing, buy a lot of leads. When I first bought my Pilot Color pencils, I only bought one refill pack for each color. I ran out in a few weeks and was quite dismayed to have to switch back to a lame old wooden pencil while I waited for new leads to arrive.

I just got all the colors!!! I love them all. Especially the pink one!these great for color coding your notes at school!

Finally a colored pencil lead that writes clearly and is also erasable! I love this lead and I can definitely recommend it. I'll probably add all the colors (eventually).
