Check out this new retractable shaker mechanical pencil from Pilot! The pencil tip of this body can conveniently retract to protect the pencil tip, pockets and pencil cases from damage. Just push firmly on the top cap button to extend and retract the tip. When the tip is extended, you can shake the pencil to extend lead or click the top button. Pressing the cap firmly retracts the tip. The pencil body has a colored window that shows the two writing states, the off state "Deru" which means "to come out" and the on state "Furu" which means it is ready to "shake". Refillable with the Pilot HERFN-10 eraser.

I love this mechanical pencil! I bought this pencil along with a few, but was not able to put this one down. I get a lot of compliments and when people see me shake my pencil they get all curious lol I recommend it, in fact, I'm going to buy the blue and yellow one for me again =)

My first impression of this pencil is how hard the grip is. I thought it would a lot softer since it was pilot. The plastic grip is thin and offers very little protection from the hard plastic body. The retractable tip works very good and the shaker also. This is a sacrifice though. the lead breaks very often especially if extended more than once. This pencil is good to lend to a responsible, trustworthy classmate.

at first i wasn't really happy with the grip because it wasn't as cushy as i expected it to be, but after writing with it for a while i'm really happy with it! it's got the right amount of traction (at least for me; if you're really used to the dr. grip style grips you might not want to get this pencil based off of the grip?) and while it's true that it can get a little smudgy with pencil lead marks (this seems to happen to most grip pencils though!) it's really easy to just rub it off!

the mechanisms of this pencil, both the initial click and the lead advancing system, are super clean in execution and feel sturdy. that said, i would probably be really careful with the pencils anyway just to be extra sure. the plastic of the grip and the plastic of the body are made from different materials, so while the color doesn't match 110%, it's a close 99% match if color is a really big deal for you! overall it's really cheery and makes me want to work hard in school, so i would definitely recommend it! :9

I have a bias for soft grips, so I just didn't like this pencil very much. It does indeed have a good shaker engine, but I'm not really used to shaker pencils anyway. I like the sturdiness and weight of this pencil, but there's too much weight at the back of the pencil so the balance feels just awful. The pencil itself is very nice; the tip resembles that of a Hi-Tec-C Coleto gel refill in case if you were wondering. Also, it's a bit hard to tell, but the grip of this is made of rubber as per the specifications. The rubber grip on this pencil is so thin, though, it doesn't feel like anything. The design of this pencil is okay, but I still can't get used to the plunger (or whatever it's called) that you push to get the tip out. The whole pencil is pink and orange plastic, but the plunger is aluminum. It looks rather unpleasant and I wish they had made it out of orange plastic instead. The main selling point of this pencil is its delful-ness, or just the double feature of a retractable tip and a shaker mechanism. The Del part of this pencil really had me wondering why Pilot doesn't make all of its mechanical pencils come with a retractable tip. One thing to consider, though, the lead shaker still works when the tip is retracted. The lead doesn't come out that easily when the tip is inside, but it just feels like yet another derp moment courtesy of Pilot. Overall, I would recommend this for people looking for a casual pencil to carry in their pockets or purses (and man purses).
