DescriptionSpecificationsQuestions & Answers
This Pilot Down Force ballpoint pen boasts smooth writing at all angles! This means that you can write upside-down or at any angle and still get consistent ink flow. The pen can even write on wet paper. This is achieved through a unique mechanism at work inside the pen—pressing the top button increases the air pressure at the top of the ink refill, causing the ink to be pushed towards the pen tip. No special pressurized ink refills are necessary—simple Pilot BKRF refills, listed under Recommended Refills/Parts, are compatible. Black ink is included with the pen.

• The use of refills other than those listed under Recommended Refills/Parts may cause ink leakage or other malfunctions.
• If ink does not come out when writing, try pressing the top button again.

The pen also features a clip with a sturdy metal spring, ideal for clipping the pen to thick items such as binders. The clip can be used 100,000 times without breaking.

Pushing the top button extends the pen tip, and opening the clip retracts the tip. This ensures that when clipping the pen in your pocket or anywhere else, you do not accidentally leave the tip extended.

I love these pens for work (Nurse)! They aren't the smoothest-writing ever, but they do write nicely, they don't get goopy at the end like many ballpoints do, and I think they are the only pens in existence that do not smear on the smooth lab labels we have to write on! I have two of these for work and plan to order more!

It's a good looking pen, but for an extra cost I'd go for the rubberized-barreled, metal-clipped, slightly shorter Tombow AirPress.

+ Looks very cool
+ Clips to big stuff
+ Interesting technology and good performance
+ Clip as knock release is fun

- Doesn't feel terribly substantial
- Big plastic clip looks a bit brittle
- The clicks -- particularly the "un-click" -- are quite loud

I use this pen at work as a nurse. It is great- easy to clip on my scrub collar, it writes at every angle so I can label things with ease. With options for bright colors I never loose site of it or run the risk of having a coworker snatch it up! I highly recommend this pen for a nurse in the clinical setting.

The ink delivery of this pen is fantastic. Silky smooth writing with just the right flow. It's also extremely precise, which is strange for a .7 mm tip. The clip is very helpful to keep in the spiral of my memo book as well. I personally wish the build materials were a bit nicer, the plastic is very light and the pen is has a very large diameter. The combination of weight and diameter just doesn't seem right. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this pen for anyone who needs to have a pen on them all the time, but not as a fine writing instrument, which is understandable for the price.

ok, but not better than power tank for smear resistance. For a right hander a good pen.
