I really like how smooth this pen writes. The ink is dark and the pen doesn't skip when I write; as a lefty that's something I like to see in a pen. As for the grip I don't think it's anything special. It feels smooth but it's not that soft. The pen itself is lightweight and fits comfortably in my hand. Overall I think it's a very good pen, I've already bought refills for it. The only thing I don't like, thus the four stars, is that the grip attracts soooo much lint, fuzz, fabric fibers, etc. Definitely don't let it drop and roll on the carpet!

Absolutely LOVE this pen! Contrary to the previous review, I actually like that this one is lighter than the American Dr. Grip pen as it makes my hand less tired when I write. The grip is very comfortable and I like the fine tip. Also, the ink flows very smoothly out of the pen with a nice consistently dark color that I thought I was writing with gel pen. I really had to look at the tip and the ink on the page really closely to realize that this was indeed a ball point pen. On most American pens the fine tips tend to clog up and need to be replaced (unless you use a space pen). So far, so good with this pen! :)

If you are a fan of the American version of this pen, you may be disappointed with this Japanese version. This version of the pen is much lighter than the American version therefore making the pen seem extremely cheap. The click isn’t as smooth and the pocket clip is very flimsy. The bright side for me is that it is fine point but hey, I could have saved myself the money and purchased one of the fine point re-fills to use in the American version. The only other cool thing is the color. I'm really surprised Pilot would put their name on this.
