DescriptionSpecificationsFrequently Asked Questions (1)
The FriXion Ball Knock Design Series showcase modern and fun body designs! The pen features the same beloved thermosensitive ink found in other FriXion pens that can be erased by friction, but in a sleek, retractable body. Just push the clip to extend and retract the tip. The special rubber tip at the end allows you to erase conveniently without having to cap or uncap your pen. The pen writes smoothly and erases without a trace!

FriXion ink is a thermosensitive ink that can be erased by rubbing. Interestingly, erased ink reappears at temperatures below 14° F (-10° C). A freezer is cold enough to make this happen. Due to the thermosensitive nature of FriXion ink, we advise against using it for mailings, or leaving the written materials in hot cars or in environments that expose them to a lot of friction.

This pen contains black ink. Refills are available in additional colors.

Q: My Pilot FriXion pen is not writing well. It seems to be dried out or writing with clear ink. What should I do?
The FriXion ink formula is thermo-sensitive, which causes it to become invisible when heat from friction is applied. If the pen has been exposed to warm temperatures or direct sunlight, this may have caused the ink inside the pen to be "erased." Please try to store the pens in your freezer overnight, then remove them for an hour or two prior to writing to allow them to come back to room temperature. This can usually reactivate the coloring in the ink and allow the pens to write as normal.

This pen is very ugly in person. The ink flow, or lack thereof, is infuriating. It is useless to write with. If you can get it to actually lay ink down, the eraser does work very well.

Classic look. Easy to write with. And you can choose any color refill to put in it. (I am not fond of black ink pens.)
