DescriptionSpecifications
The long awaited retractable version of the popular Pilot FriXion line is here! Pen features the same beloved thermo-sensitive ink that can be erased by friction, but now comes in a sleek, retractable body. Just push the clip to extend and retract the tip. A subtle yellow color appears along the barrel side to show when the pen is extended. The special rubber tip at the end allows you to erase conveniently without having to cap or uncap your pen. The pen writes smoothly and erases without a trace! Refills available for select ink colors and point sizes only.

Interestingly enough, the ink in these pens will actually reappear when the temperature reaches below - 10 C (under 14 Fahrenheit). A freezer is sufficiently cold enough to make the ink start to reappear. It is like a magic pen for adults!

Because the ink in this pen is thermo sensitive, we do not advise for it to be left in hot cars, used for mailing, or subjected to a condition that exposes it to a lot of friction.

I own just about every Pilot Frixion product ever made. When it comes to the Ball Knock Retractable Gel Pens, I have the entire set in the 0.7mm. Decided to buy this one to give the 0.5mm version a try. I think I like the 0.7mm a little more for three reasons. First, the color is far bolder on paper. I also think the 0.7mm flows a lot more smoothly when writing. Last, I kind of really like how the "eraser" on the 0.7mm matches the pen color as opposed to the clear on the 0.5mm. That's just me. Otherwise, this pen is okay. I may get a few more colors. Guess it all depends on your writing style/preferences.

I really love this one, but had the same problem where the pen stopped working suddenly. I think if the ink cartridge is exposed to high heat (like in your car) the pen stops working.

I initially bought my first set of these pens (.7mm) when on vacation in Japan. I absolutely love them. The only drawback I have found is the ink runs out too quickly. I am absolutely ecstatic to have found an online store where I can purchase refills.

I also found that if you leave the pen in your car on a hot day or it is exposed to heat the ink will not work. You can solve this problem by putting the pen in the freezer (below 14 degrees F) and the ink will start working again. The ink is heat sensitive. Hope this helps everyone!

These are just as fabulous as I hoped they would be. They are now my favorite pens for grading! I'm a bit disappointed that they don't last longer; I've already used one up, and I only got them a week or so ago. Glad I ordered several, and I hope they make a refill, because it could get spendy!
