DescriptionSpecificationsFrequently Asked Questions
The long awaited retractable version of the popular Pilot FriXion line is here! Pen features the same beloved thermo-sensitive ink that can be erased by friction, but now comes in a sleek, retractable body. Just push the clip to extend and retract the tip. A subtle yellow color appears along the barrel side to show when the pen is extended. The special rubber tip at the end allows you to erase conveniently without having to cap or uncap your pen. The pen writes smoothly and erases without a trace! Refills available for select ink colors and point sizes only.

Interestingly enough, the ink in these pens will actually reappear when the temperature reaches below – 10 C (under 14 Fahrenheit). A freezer is sufficiently cold enough to make the ink start to reappear. It is like a magic pen for adults!

Because the ink in this pen is thermo sensitive, we do not advise for it to be left in hot cars, used for mailing, or subjected to a condition that exposes it to a lot of friction.

The erasable ink piqued my curiosity so I thought I would try this pen out. I wasn't really impressed when I started using it, although the ink is erasable with the frixion tip on the opposite end, the ink itself is more pink in color. The ink also skips, which I thought was weird because usually gel ink pens write nice solid lines. The pen body isn't as comfortable as it looks, the body is actually very stiff and the rubber grip isn't very comfortable on the fingers. Its a nice looking pen and if you're looking for ink that erases then I would recommend buying, otherwise I don't think I'll buy this pen again.

I use these more to sketch out ideas... I used to use them to correct drawings, but now I don't really have time for that. It's a great companion pen to have with you.

These frixion pens are the greatest advance in writing since papyrus over clay tablets, in my opinion. Color plus eras-ability. And better eras-ability than pencil. I've read some reviews stating that writing cannot be completely erased. Here is what I found: Just pressing hard with the eraser leads to mediocre results. But since it is the heat produced by friction that makes the writing disappear, I get better results by rubbing fast rather than hard.
