The long awaited retractable version of the popular Pilot FriXion line is here! Pen features the same beloved thermo-sensitive ink that can be erased by friction, but now comes in a sleek, retractable body. Just push the clip to extend and retract the tip. A subtle yellow color appears along the barrel side to show when the pen is extended. The special rubber tip at the end allows you to erase conveniently without having to cap or uncap your pen. The pen writes smoothly and erases without a trace! Refills available for select ink colors and point sizes only.

Interestingly enough, the ink in these pens will actually reappear when the temperature reaches below – 10 C (under 14 Fahrenheit). A freezer is sufficiently cold enough to make the ink start to reappear. It is like a magic pen for adults!

Because the ink in this pen is thermo sensitive, we do not advise for it to be left in hot cars, used for mailing, or subjected to a condition that exposes it to a lot of friction.

These are the best pens...
September 14, 2015
These are the best pens I've ever used. For editors and proofreaders, a good red pen is indispensable. For the advertising industry, erasable is a must. These pens write really smoothly and visibly, and the ink disappears completely upon erasure (you'll only see your indents on the page if you press down hard as you write).

Some amazing things about this pen:
- There is no eraser dust, so your lap won't be covered with pink specks at the end of the day.
- Erasing is really quick and easy compared to Paper Mate Erasermates.
- The ink just vanishes when erased, on all kinds of paper, and even through tape!
- The ink can be layered through multiple passes so that it can even been seen on top of dark images! Reduces the need for silver markers/pens.

Some minor drawbacks:
- The ink runs out pretty quickly compared to Paper Mate Erasermates.
- Writing fades over time and is more susceptible to erasure from regular friction, although I've never seen it become unreadable.

Despite the minor drawbacks (if you really want a pen to last, you shouldn't be using erasable anyway), these have easily become my favorite red pens. The other colors work just as well, and I use them for everyday applications. I definitely won't ever use another kind of erasable pen again.
