Pilot Japan has broken the barrier between pencils and erasable gel pens! To highlight this fact, their newest FriXion pens have plastic bodies reminiscent of wooden pencils. These erasable gel pens write in vibrant gel colors that are unattainable with colored pencil lead. The pens are so erasable, you'll be amazed. An incredible selection of 24 colors is available.

Interestingly enough, the ink in these pens will actually reappear when the temperature reaches below -10 C (under 14 Fahrenheit). A freezer is sufficiently cold enough to make the ink start to reappear, you can watch a video on how it works here. It is like a magic pen for adults!

Because the ink in this pen is thermo sensitive, we do not advise for it to be left in hot cars, used for mailing, or subjected to a condition that exposes it to a lot of friction. Please keep in mind that due to difference in design, the Pilot FriXion Color-Pencil-Like pens have a shorter lifespan when in use, compared to the regular FriXion line of gel pens.

Q: My Pilot FriXion pen is not writing well. It seems to be dried out or writing with clear ink. What should I do?
The FriXion ink formula is thermo-sensitive, which causes it to become invisible when heat from friction is applied. If the pen has been exposed to warm temperatures or direct sunlight, this may have caused the ink inside the pen to be "erased." Please try to store the pens in your freezer overnight, then remove them for an hour or two prior to writing to allow them to come back to room temperature. This can usually reactivate the coloring in the ink and allow the pens to write as normal.

I was expecting this pen to be an okay pen, but I was very pleasantly suprised when it performed much much better than the 0.4mm FriXion erasable pen. There was no competition, this pen was better in every way except in the looks department. This pen is not a pretty as the other one. But, I would rather have a not so pretty pen that writes beautifully, with wonderful ink flow and brilliant colors than a pretty pen whose ink flow is horrible, and has washed out look on paper.

I purchased this lime green, a dark orange and a blue pen for prizes at Sunday school. The kids LOVE the colors and try to get enough stars to get their favorite color. I think I am gathering more fans of the Erasable Gel Ink Pens! From the 3rd & 4th graders to my Grandson in college - all are big fans of these pens.

I was so excited when I received these in the mail. Right away I scribbled on a piece of paper and tested the eraser. It works perfectly as long as you don't press on it too hard. This color was a little darker than I expected but still pretty. The ink is a little watery, just a heads up.
