This review is ONLY about the color, not the general pen itself. I have six of these pens (and I LOVE them!) and the only one I hate is this orange one. It writes super super light that it's not good for note-taking but only for underlining in a book. I'd say it's more goldenrod than orange. (In contrast, my Zebra Sarasa in orange from jetpens is a true, vibrant orange.)

These pens are great! Beautiful, functional, and the price really isn't so bad if you don't burn through them too quickly. I do use them for note-taking, but not for the main body or writing, more just for side notes or the highlighting of an important word or two. Wonderful for pre-printed fill in the blank notes, when you need something that stands out. I would say these are a great buy, just use them wisely.

These are the best pens ever! I am a teacher, and have been using them for the past 2 years! The colors really are bright, and they erase very well leaving no dust behind...please, please, please continue shipping these pens to the US. They make teaching so much easier, and let's face it, us teachers can use all the help we can get! ;-)

OMG! THESE markers are amazing! I love writing with these in Trigonometry! It's the best. They're not super inky--that will bleed through the paper, they're relatively light, but wonderful! COlors are very bright! They erase sooo easily. I'm so impressed, I want to buy another set just as backups when I use the others up--which I will do! Wonderful wonderful. Thank you JetPens, it's the only place you can find them. Great! Check out the frixion pens too, they're also really cool. Best invention ever. Why they don't sell in the US, I'll never know. It's baffling really. <3 Japan, wish we had all the cool stuff too..so big thumbs up to jetpens!

Great for editors!
I got these as a gift for my editor and she LOVES that she can make different colored notes for different sorts of comments and that all of those comments are erasable (should she have second thoughts about marking up my brilliant manuscript!). Anyway, she adored them so much that she bought a bunch for her fellow editors. Colorful, cute, and they work great!

Awesomeness. Loved the Pilot FriXion pens I bought at a local office supply store but this set has way more color options and the "eraser" is more conveniently located. Writes very smooth & erases perfectly. Just discovered JetPens and am thrilled to have access to such an extensive inventory of neat pens/pencils. I am obsessed with pens but have no shame as I see that I am clearly not alone.

these pens are great they wright,but the yellow one does not show up very good

I bought the entire set in early 2011 to use in my day planner as they need to be erasable. I've tried every kind in the book and these are the ONLY ones that truly are. Now we are ordering more for the other people who work in the office. THE highlighters are truly awesome too!~ Just remember about the cold/heat thingy -

dark mustard yellow ink. Writes great.

These pens are EXCELLENT! Smooth, dark, no-skip lines with the Ultramarine. A bit wet, but I really like them. Highly recommended! I will be buying a LOT more of these pens - perfect for fast note taking and general purpose use.

These pens are AMAZING!!! I was not expecting the eraser function to work half as well as it did and all the colors (except for the dark green) are really bright and vibrant (I got the 12 pack). Also, the reusable carrying case is quite handy. I recommend anyone considering buying these pens to get them because of their versatility. These pens really work for both art and plain writing. I hope this review helped!

These are extremely cool pens. The colors are bolder than the older frixions and the eraser seems to work better. (I loved the old ones, these are even better!) These are extremely comfortable to write with and I thought I would miss the clip, but I don't really. I hope they come out with 0.5mm ones.

I found out something cool today too. It's not just friction that erases them, heat will too. I wrote on a piece of paper and then tried to print over it with our copy machine and it came out without the writting. This could be a problem in certain situations, but it could also come in handy to know.

These pens are really awesome! They write really smoothly and erase very well, even on cheap copy paper. One problem is how expensive these pens are. But they are definitely worth the price.

to be honest i'm a little disappointed in this gel pen, i thought it would a lot smoother considering all the great reviews here, i would definitely like the tip to be finer preferably a 0.5 mm, and for the gel to be less skippy as i feel i have to apply a lot of pressure to get it to write without skipping.

Loved this pen! Used it almost every day until it ran out. Writes really smoothly and the erasing is phenomenal!

My new favorite pen! I love the color, dark enough to use for professional documents. The eraser is so much nicer on the cap... I don't understand why some other Frixion pens don't put them on the cap. Love love this pen!

1. It's 0.7mm, but it writes thicker than my 7mm pilots.

2. the colors aren't solid enough. for example, the black looks gray.

3. the inks aren't even. if drawn a line, some parts will be darker than the other (more ink) especially near endings.

4. the ink takes a while to dry, so can be easily smudged.

5. don't erase THAT well and not comfy grip/design. -- not worth $2.15

6. no matter how long u wait. IT SMUDGE pencil, inks, etc. SAD...

I bought:
purplish red- ugly color...
dark green- best erase and nice color. but VERY unevenly ink distrub.
tawny brown--very sad reddish/coco brown... worst erase
tea brown- roller ball is bad? i can see there's whites in between each line when writing with it.
black--light black/dark gray...
ultramarine blue-- best color but doesn't erase too well like black and tawny brown.
purple- same as tea brown

very disappointed. but 1 star for my favorite brand pilot. 1 star for erasable.

The pen in itself doesn't seem too bad. I especially like the outer appearance of it. But as other review have already claimed, the black ink isn't dark. It's almost gray. The eraser doesn't really work that well either. I don't think I'd buy this again..

These are the best erasable pens I've every used!!! I'm am elementary school teacher and earsable pens are very important for me. I even buy them for my students, and they are in love with them as well! I only wish they would have a sale on these pens once in a while. I highly recommend any FriXion erasable product.

Love the color of this pen, it's a rich deep brown but not too black. It's enjoyable to write with. The erasing is not 100% but plenty good enough. Also, I wish I could have gotten a finer point. It's just a bit wide for my tastes but that doesn't greatly diminish the fun of writing with this. I also purchased the blue black and the pink and am very happy with them all.

This is a joy to write with, and the ink is truly, nearly magically, erasable.

Take heed: "Please keep in mind that due to difference in design, the Pilot FriXion Color-Pencil-Like pens have a shorter lifespan when in use, compared to the regular FriXion line of gel pens." This pen burns ink... but what a joy while it lasts.

these pens are awesome and are so nice to write with but they were so expensive! i only pull these out for something very special

Nice packaging. Brown is unusual in a 6 pen set and happens to be one of my favorite colors. Overall the erase-ability of the ink was better than I was expecting while the color density and flow were a little worse than I was hoping for. The black in particular appears washed out but overall much better than the majority of pens out there not to mention the fact that its also erasable.
