Three pen set includes one black, blue and red ink pen.

Like a small town talent who turned into a supermodel, the newest FriXion now sports a glamorous new look. It is incredible to believe that there is now an erasable gel pen that is as fine as 0.4 mm! That's thinner than most gel pens available in the US, and that makes these new pens as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside.

Pilot has really had a breakthrough in technology with the FriXion line. The pens have a special rubber end to rub the thermo sensitive ink away with, thus no eraser by-products are produced, yet the ink disappears magnificently. The pen writes smoothly, in colorful lines, and erases without a trace!

Interestingly enough, the ink in these pens will actually reappear when the temperature reaches below – 10 C (under 14 Fahrenheit). A freezer is sufficiently cold enough to make the ink start to reappear. It is like a magic pen for adults!

Because the ink in this pen is thermo sensitive, we do not advise for it to be left in hot cars, used for mailing, copying, or subjected to a condition that exposes it to a lot of friction.

These are great for very small and detailed accounting work. I don't like writing in pencil, it's too smeary, so have been on the lookout for pens that write small, but then corrections were difficult. The .04 fits the bill perfectly, I can write small on my reports, make notes for others, but then if I have to make corrections or revert a copy to an original and take out my notes, voila--erases right away!! The ink flows well, doesn't smear, and erases cleaned, with not residue or ghost markings. I would highly recommend this to accounting people who like pens, but not the permanence. Of course you wouldn't use these in instances where you would want permanence, like a signature.

I bought the pen because I loved the design, and how it fits in my hand and also to try it out.
Everything was almost perfect for these pens... the design of the pen is great, the usability too, and it comes in a wide range of colors, which makes it a good alternative to the G-TEC.
But I hate erasable ink! I just don't get the point of it. It's a cheap invention that gives me a feeling of being ripped off. Everytime I make a drawing or write something important, I have to photocopy it to make sure it won't go away.
I cannot write official documents, sign cheques, get into detail, when I write with this pen, because it will end up disappearing (it fades with time and / or heat... like if you scan the paper you wrote on on a machine with a feeder, or print on the back with a laser copier, etc)
It's just too bad that one cannot refill it with G-TEC or multiball ink...
Anyways. Hate the ink, maybe I would have a need for it if I was a student but I think fountain pens with a special eraser pen are a better alternative for students because even if you're a student you don't want to inadvertently erase your copy by putting it into a scanner (which will heat up the paper and make the ink invisible!)...

I will admit, I was skeptical that these pens really were erasable. My experience with "erasable" pens in the past has been that they were neither erasable nor really pens. I went with the 0.4's because I have tiny handwriting and wanted to use them for notes, but I was worried by the reviews that said that the colors were washed out. I am happy to report that they are both really and truly erasable and dark enough for color-coded notes. I love them.

I love the Frixions, the write smooth, are very easy to erase, and definitely get attention. I started with the more expensive Biz and Biz point and wanted to get these for something a little less spendy.

I will agree the ink is light on both blue and black (more so on blue) but I don't mind for the erasability and fine point. I love it for taking notes where I'm writing quickly and tend to make mistakes.

Very smooth when writing. Ink erases very well and they are perfect for studying a language or math. I hate writing with pencil when studying something that requires lots of erasing so these pens are a perfect match for me. I use them all the time when studying Japanese. Only gave it 4 stars because ink can be a little faint so I would not use them for signing documents.
