These pens are the new upgraded version of the standard Pilot FriXion. They feature beautiful metal bodies and an amazingly thin 0.4 mm tip size. They are perfect for the workplace!

The Pilot FriXion is a 2008 Good Design winner. It's breakthrough technology allows ink to be erased simply by heat created from friction! The pens have a special rubber end to rub the thermo sensitive ink away with, causing the ink to disappear magnificently (without eraser byproduct!) The pen writes smoothly, in vibrant colors, and erases without a trace!

Interestingly enough, the ink in these pens will actually reappear when the temperature reaches below – 10 C (under 14 Fahrenheit). A freezer is sufficiently cold enough to make the ink start to reappear. It is like a magic pen for adults!

Because the ink in this pen is thermo sensitive, we do not advise for it to be left in hot cars, used for mailing, or subjected to a condition that exposes it to a lot of friction.

Q: My Pilot FriXion pen is not writing well. It seems to be dried out or writing with clear ink. What should I do?
The FriXion ink formula is thermo-sensitive, which causes it to become invisible when heat from friction is applied. If the pen has been exposed to warm temperatures or direct sunlight, this may have caused the ink inside the pen to be "erased." Please try to store the pens in your freezer overnight, then remove them for an hour or two prior to writing to allow them to come back to room temperature. This can usually reactivate the coloring in the ink and allow the pens to write as normal.

The weight of this pen is so much better than the other 0.4 mm FRIXION pens. With refills available, I will use it forever :)
I do all my math assignments with it; currently taking Differential Equations, the thin lines and erasing capabilities make the lengthly problems so easy to read when reviewing....

The barrel and cap are metal. The grip is cheap plastic. Unlike the disposable frixion pens, the eraser on this pen wears away in a few weeks (this was a huge disappointment because the erasers on the disposable pens will last as long as you need them). I love frixion pens but you shouldn't waste your money on this one. The only redeeming quality is that the .4mm ink is compatible with the disposable pens so you don't have to buy this one to get the fine lines you want.

Excellent pen. It writes well and erases even better. Can't believe they did it with such a fine point.

At first I thought this pen was cheap, I was wrong. Real slim, looks and feels like it's made of brass, vivid metallic paint. Writes good at 40 degrees and steeper w/horizontal. erases without leaving any trash behind. A new fave for sure!!!
