I just got this pen to use for my illustration & comic work. I've done one small drawing with it, and it worked great! When I colored over the lines with my markers (half copics, half trias) it didn't bleed at all. Tip is nice and firm, just waiting out to see how well it holds it's sharp tip with continued use. But so far I'm loving it. :D

This double sided pen is neat for quick doodles, but nothing serious. The black ink is nice and dark, and soaks into the paper well, but the grey tends to streak and pill up the paper if applied too heavily. Also, it kinda bugged me that the ink is a cool black, while the grey is warm toned. Minor nitpick. Whatever. Also, for some reason, the black in was NOT Copic proof for me. Though, that could have just been the paper.

Love this pen! I am a manga artist and have used mainly copic liners for my work. The pilot pen gives you better lines and a slicker look to your work. It does not smudge with the copic markers and dries quickly. I was looking for s brush type pen different from the copic or micron brush types which are a felt tip type so the pilot pen is a perfect mix of brush and technical pen. The only down side is it is not refillable, but I believe they have one which is. Regardless I will be reordering this type of pen again.

I was given one of these pens in college for my sketchbook, and I have been addicted ever since. I order 5-6 every six months or so and never leave the house without one. If you prefer to doodle or sketch with a brush pen, this one takes the cake. The tip is firm but still gives a good variety in line width and I love the black ink! Quick drying, dark, Copic-friendly and smooth like buttah. The gray ink makes it that much better! It adds instant dimension to my doodles and depending on the speed of my strokes I can get a light or dark gray out of it. Lately I really like to use a white Sakura Gelly Roll in tandem with this pen while doodling on toned paper. If you're hunting for a fun, dynamic pen, this is the one for you! The only thing I'd suggest, is Pilot start using TARDIS technology to make the inside hold way more ink!

Jimmykitty, maybe you should send them to me! I use the gray up faster. I love this pen because you can see how much ink is left. Still one of my favorites!

Great pen. There's loads of ink in this one. I draw with it but it's super smooth for both drawing and writing. The tips are flexible and move smoothly in quick or slow directional movements. The gray is silvery -to me- like a regular #2 pencil but can go darker with layering or pressure and it's nice for shading. It's a nice tool to take with me instead of lighter & darker pencils; both in one. The black is nice and dark. It was spreadable some with water/brush immediately but stayed put if I let it dry first. The gray was not affected by water/brush when I tried. Both tips give fine lines but can make thicker strokes and somewhat varied- brushlike. The caps on mine are nice and tight, really quite tight actually, so no chance of them popping off accidentally. I like it for sketching. It sirt of mimics light/dark pencil sketching; very cool. This is really a great pen.

i enjoy this pen, and have used it for multiple doodles and projects alike. the nib on the black side is starting to wear down already (less than a month of work) but i think i might have pressed too hard. i will be ordering again when it runs out of ink! i love to draw lines with the black side and then quickly switch over and add a layer of shading with the grey. it adds a bit of depth to my doodles.
