I've always liked the Hi-Tec-C pens and this multi-pen with 0.4 inks is my
current personal favorite, even slightly edging out my Slicci 3-color multi-pen.
The barrel is a little thicker than the Slicci and has a rubber grip close to
the point which makes for a more enjoyable writing experience given my personal
writing style. The colored tabs on the inks makes it very easy to see which
point is selected regardless of the barrel color. And of course the quality of
the points is excellent. One reviewer mentioned it felt like the pen was
scratching the paper; I did not experience this. Overall, a great pen and one I
would highly recommend.

Works great, but I'm disappointed that it isn't narrower than the 4 color pen
body. I think it would be more comfortable to write with if it was a little
narrower.

I love this pen to bits! It's light and very convenient to use for note-taking.
I've put in black, blue and red cartridges, so I don't have to go through the
hassle of changing pens whenever I want to use a different color.

This is my new favorite pen. I always have it with me, and I find myself trying
to find excuses to write things down. I purchased 2 of the .3 cartridge
multipacks, and the other .3 colors that didn't come in the multipack. My
students were super impressed with my pen, as well as everyone else that I have
shown. Best money I've ever spent on a pen.

This pen is INSANE. It is quick to change colors, and the .3 size is perfect. I
recomend it to anyone who likes multi-pens in fun, funky colors!

August 15, 2009
This pen in the gray or clear is excellent. I really like the 2 color version,
which for me is perfect in size, but this pen has a wider barrel, which is also
very comfortable. The rubberized grip is nice as it extends close to the tip.
The design allows for the writer to hold the pen closer to the tip (or further
back if desired). This is a big plus [with the hi-tec c (a great pen too) you do
seem to have to hold the pen a bit further up on the barrel]. Yes the pen is
light - and this makes it comfortable in my opinion. The spring mechanism only
requires a light touch and the ink is very smooth - the 0.4 in black ink is
great for taking notes. I use black ink (0.4) in two slots so I always have an
extra ready to go. I use brown (0.3 or 0.4) in the third slot as this is great
for underlining/writing small notes in margins - I seem to retain information
well when using this color for studying (versus using yellow/bright highlighters
which seem distracting). This is a great pen for a great price - highly
recommended! The clear is really nice.

I have both the 3 and 2 multi pen bodys and simply love them. These are the
greatest gel pens ever. I have been fortunate enough to get my hands on a fairly
cheap Pilot Fountain pen (with a 14k nib) that writes at the 0.4 size.
Pilot....you gotta luv this company.

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto 5 Color Multi Pen Body Component - Clear White
Looks great, works great. My only complaint is that the 5 color pen is a little
too wide to hold comfortably for writing - my hand gets sore. I think I\'ll have
to order a 3 or 4 color pen body. I wish they gave the width of each pen body
(say, in milimeters) so that I could decide which one to get.

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto 4 Color Multi Pen Body Component - Clear
I have the 4-cartridge pen body. I chose to fill it with 0.4 cartridges, which
write smoothly. I have been using the fine multi-pen from Bic, which works
great, but I wanted something more customizable.
The Coleto body isn't that great. :/ Switching to another color is so awkward
compared to the Bic. In the Bic pen, you just had to press down on another tab
and the previous color cartridge will pop up. With this pen, it is difficult to
press the cartridge tab in to push it up before pushing down another color
because simply pushing down on another tab will jam your pen. Also, the pen tabs
seem so unresponsive I am afraid sooner or later I am going to break the pen
clip because the two cartridges are so close to it, so when I press on the tabs,
I also apply pressure on the clip.
You have to have a light hand to use this, because pushing down slightly on the
pen will push the cartridge up. It's annoying sometimes. I guess I am still on
the look-out for a nice, sturdy customizable multi pen.

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto 4 Color Multi Pen Body Component - Clear
i loooove pilot's hitec-c pens and i finally decided to customize a muli-pen to
save some space in my pen case and i'm sooo happy i did! yes the quality isnt
amazing, but for an inexpensive pen it is totally functional and worth it. for
those who are having problems with changing colors, make sure you have the
refills in PROPERLY. i initially was disappointed with the pen-- one color would
not move up and down smoothly, but i took it out and realigned it, paying closer
attention and realized i wasnt lining up one side correctly! lol. but now its
like 2nd nature putting the refills in and changing colors is a breeze. my next
purchase will be the black barrel with 4 different colors/pencil refill! so when
i'm in a rush, or just going to class i only have to carry the 2 multi pens!! :D

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto 5 Color Multi Pen Body Component - Clear Black
A bit flimsy compared to a more expensive multi-pen: It can be a bit tricky to
slide in refills & they retract accidentally a bit too easily. However, in my
opinion, multi-pens are mostly a novelty, anyway & the options available for
this 5-color make it the most fun multi available. I like to put the pencil,
eraser & 3 bright colors in it & keep it on hand to mark up writing done with a
"real" pen.

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto 2 Color Multi Pen Body Component - Clear
I disagree with the negative reviews on this pen. I find it to be light and
comfortable to write with. The grip is ridged and allows for you to hold the pen
closer to the tip if desired (versus the hi-tec c pens which I find you need to
hold up higher due to placement of the grip). The 0.4 ink is great; it also
seems to write smoother than the 0.4 hi-tec c pens. For those that want a
rubberized grip and wider barrel with more color choices, go for the 3 or 4
color version of this pen.

Wow. These multi-pens are really neat. This one looks even cooler than the
Slicci 3-Cartidge barrel. I don't even want to take the sticker off because it
looks so cool.
It has a decent rubber grip and a snappy mechanism that switches the pens.

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto 4 Color Multi Pen Body Component - Black
I do use this pen a lot as a student, but never to take notes.
There are two downsides to using this pen to take a lot of notes: 1) The
cartridges are thin so I run out of ink faster than I'd prefer. This can be
solved by using the pencil component but 2) The grip is not that ergonomic so it
strains my hand to write with this pen for longer time periods needed to write
study guides.
I do, however, use this pen A LOT as supplement to my study aides, particularly
to replace highlighters. With the .4 mm color cartridges, I can underline and
mark up readings as well as write between lines and margins.
Overall, though, I think this is an affordable and versatile product. Worth the
buy.

Update: the sticker came off fine with no residue. This 4 color pen is my
favorite. I've used it with both 0.4 and 0.5 inks and both of those write
smoothly. Its easy to use and easy to change the inks. The only drawback is that
the ink gets used up pretty fast.

Have to agree with the poster above me, these are amazingly wonderful pen
bodies. I have owned many many pens from 25 cent bargain basement pens to $30
upper class ones. I'm not an artist but, I do go to school for Digital Effects
and have taken a few drawing classes. These pen bodies, coupled with the .5mm
ink are simply wonderful to use.

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto 4 Color Multi Pen Body Component - Black
I love using this pen for my daily planner, it's the easiest and simplest way to
carry 4 different colors for marking different things, such as homework,
classes, assignments, and meetings, without having to carry a separate pen case
for the colors I use in my planner.
The colors are easy to change in and out of the body, simply flip up the top and
slide out the old ones, and in the new.

i got this and used 3 fun colors in 0.3mm cartridges. the barrel is cheaply
made and does not stay screwed together properly. i'm hoping its just this one
or in my own stupidity have broken it. i just ordered a new one in white that
holds 4 colors and the kit of like all the colors cartridge so i can switch them
out at my whim. the inks i already know are great and have the fine line i'm
looking for in my pens.

I am ambivalent about the Coleto bodies. They are certainly functional, and
surprisingly comfortable, and I am much more appreciative of these qualities
after having tried the competitor multipen shell bodies for the Uni Style Fit
and Slicci Multi. That said, still not hugely attractive. If not for the
convenience of seeing the color of my refills, I would just load all my coletos
into the body of the Zebra 4+1 Multipen.
