The new Hi-Tec-C colors from Pilot look absolutely delicious. Perhaps that's why they have flavored names, the first of its kind in the Hi-Tec-C line. Adding to an already impressive color line, these five new colors bring the Hi-Tec-C line to a whopping 51 colors!

What are Hi-Tec C pens?

Pilot Hi-Tec C pens are special pens that are currently very popular in Japan. They are highly sought after in the US, but are very difficult to find in stores.

The fine tipped point of Pilot Hi-Tec C pens allow you to write with incredible precision. Moreover the ink is chemically formulated so that it will not bleed after it dries.

Hi-Tec C fans immediately recognize the brilliant design of these pens. They are available in .25mm, 0.3mm, 0.4mm and 0.5mm sizes.

I am quite fond of the Hi-Tec-C line of pens, in this size and the 0.4 mm size. I have never had a problem with these pens. Until now.

First off, this pen was extremely scratchy and difficult to use right out of the gate. The color was also far too light to be much use for anything other than doodling. A bit annoyed, I set it to the side for about a month and a half. Yesterday, I took it out again to see if it had improved. It worked OK for about thirty seconds, and then the tip snapped clean off.

I'm not sure if I simply got a defective pen, or if the problem is limited to this particular color. I have quite a few Hi-Tec-C pens, and I have never had this problem with the other ones. Overall, however, I will not be purchasing this one again.

It really writes smooth, but the blue is too bright!! It's hard to see!! I really liked the color, but I think it should be a little darker! maybe, if I use a pilot hi-tec-c in 0.4 mm or 0.5 mm I could see it better...

not going to lie, i mostly bought this pen because it was called soda blue =_ ramune, which i absolutely love. :D i was actually pretty surprised - the blue is really bright, but not painfully so and shows up nicely in my notes.
