What are Hi-Tec-C pens?

Pilot Hi-Tec-C pens are special pens that are currently very popular in Japan. They are highly sought after in the US, but are very difficult to find in stores.

The fine tipped point of Pilot Hi-Tec-C pens allow you to write with incredible precision. Moreover the ink is chemically formulated so that it will not bleed after it dries.

Hi-Tec-C fans immediately recognize the brilliant design of these pens. They are available in 0.25 mm, 0.3 mm, 0.4 mm, and 0.5 mm sizes and in a variety of colors.

The pen is light in the hand and writes very smoothly. I think the needle point would particularly suit someone who has a light touch, whereas a Signo DX would probably be better for someone who likes to put more pressure on the paper.

The blue is much closer to the "sapphire" than the "aqua" shown in the photo samples, to the extent that I double-checked the label to make sure that it really was aqua (-AL suffix).

Very pretty blue. Dark enough for everyday writing, and (dare I say it?) a bit more sophisticated than plain old blue. The color is deep but still clearly in the blue-green range. Most of the blue-green/aqua pens I've used aren't dark enough to read easily; this one is. Writes smoothly, but one point off for comfort of grip.
