The new Hi-Tec-C colors from Pilot look absolutely delicious. Perhaps that's why they have flavored names, the first of its kind in the Hi-Tec-C line. Adding to an already impressive color line, these five new colors bring the Hi-Tec-C line to a whopping 51 colors!

What are Hi-Tec-C pens?

Pilot Hi-Tec C pens are special pens that are currently very popular in Japan. They are highly sought after in the US, but are very difficult to find in stores.

The fine tipped point of Pilot Hi-Tec C pens allow you to write with incredible precision. Moreover the ink is chemically formulated so that it will not bleed after it dries.

Hi-Tec C fans immediately recognize the brilliant design of these pens. They are available in 0.25 mm, 0.3 mm, 0.4 mm, and 0.5 mm sizes.

I'd have to agree with the previous reviewer that the color shown on the sample is definitely brighter/darker looking than in real life. I just received mine, and my first thought was that the color looks a bit watered down.

When I first tried this pen out, the ink seemed to be a little faded-looking, but the color grew on me. The ink in the photo is a little darker than it actually is from the pen -- the actual ink is a little closer to the shade in this link [ http://www.amazingpaper.com.au/persistent/catalogue_images/products/OJP.jpg ]. The particular pen I had lasted a long time with no ink flow problems. I used it until the ink level went down to the very tip, near the ball point.

Good buy, lovely color, great pen.
Just don't get it if you need a very bright color.

These are actually the best pens I have ever used. No doubt. A few months ago, I bought a 12 set of the Pilot Frixxion pens, and I thought those were amazing, because they erased, but after time, if you don't use the actual box they give you, dirt and other sediment sticks to the rubber, leaving a messy eraser mark when you erase. Then, I saw that one of my friends had a hi-tec-c pen. but it was .3 and I wrote with it, and wasn't too pleased. I felt that the tip was too thin. At first I hesitated when I clicked add to cart for this set, but I trusted the brand, the reviews, and JetPens. Two days later, during the snow storm in my area, the pens come. I immediately try them, and I fell in love. I strongly recommend these pens. Although they do not erase, they write like a pencil, except instead lead coming out, you have great solid colors

This is the best pen I have ever used! They have a nice thin tip that I love because I write small, and they don't break off when I press down on them! I bought all colors to use when I'm taking notes, and three years later I still love them(although now I need to buy new ones). They also write super smooth!!

If you are looking for the equivalent(and probably even better version) of the High tech C try the Uni-Ball Signo DX 0.28mm or the zebra sarasa 0.3 mm. Both are absolutely fantastic pens in all respects, and are even better because they're cheaper than the high tech c. Both also come with a grip and do not have a fragile needle point like the high tech c.
