I like to color code my notes and this pen came in handy when I wanted to copy
down example problems without having them distract me from definitions and
formulas and whatnot. It writes about as dark as a 2b pencil so it's fairly
visible on white paper. I didn't have a problem with a bending/scratchy/skipping
tip in 0.5. (quick note: out of 15 0.5 Hi-Tec-C's I own, only 1 was scratchy and
Recently I've used this pen for sketches and it works very nicely. The ink gets
nicely dark without going black if you go over a line a few times but with just
a quick pass, it's light enough to not be distracting. I certain would
repurchase and I think I'll also try this color in 0.4 :D

Inferior Pen. I'm a big fan of Hi-Tec C's [0.3's & 0.4's] and they are my
favorite all-around utilitarian pens, but NOT this particular 0.5— it's
unusable. The ink resembles a fine point lead pencil with hard dull led that
doesn't show, but worse - the tip bends under pressure, it writes scratchy, and
skips. I won't be purchasing any more 0.5's.
