I love this version of the hi-tec c. It's a more comfortable pen then the original, however it runs out of ink very quickly. I have had it about 3 weeks and already the ink is gone, it makes me sad on the inside. Buy extra ink refills!!

This was part of my first JetPens order!

I love the Hi-Tec-C line (G-Tec-C here in the USA), but am generally not a fan of capped pens. When I found this pen, I thought I'd found the perfect little writing instrument for me.. While it is a good pen, it is definitely not my perfect pen. The ink is smooth, as expected, but the barrel is much smaller than anticipated. The barrel is approximately the same size as a G-Tec-C without its cap. However, the Slim Knock feels smaller in diameter than the G-Tec-C (I could be wrong, though). Additionally, the Slim Knock feels basically weightless to me (something I don't care for).

Despite the points above, the pen is great for those that are looking for something compact; the pen would be great for slipping into a small wallet.

The line seems indistinguishable from that of the standard Hi-Tec-C (the refills are different, so that was a question for me). The grip is nice. I might actually prefer the slimmer body. However, it is way too short for my tastes. Yes, I looked at the specification chart and bought it knowing how short it was. I had not anticipated how short it would feel! I'm happy to have tried it; I wouldn't buy it again.

This pen is almost too light but nonetheless, works flawlessly. Hardly skips and no feathering.

The pen wrote very well when I tried it. However, I was not fond of the size in my hand. I may be used to larger sized pens, but this felt too small and light for me. When it come to the Hi-Tec-Cs, I'll stick to the regular sizes. If you prefer smaller sized pens, then check this one out. If you prefer larger sizes, this may not be for you. Otherwise, it is a good pen.

Love this pen!! I can take it anywhere. It even fits into my smallest wallet without problems. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I'd like to see it in more colors.

I bought this hoping it would be a superior replacement of the cheap plastic capped PILOT G-TEC.

Not so. Where the cheap plastic capped G-TEC (or hi-tec-c cavalier) is smooth, this is scratchy. And by scratchy, I mean it's like using a 10 year old crow-feather quill on dried papyrus, not pleasant. It's like they removed the microscopic stainless steel / ceramic rolling ball and put in a sulphur molecule, just for kicks.

I purchased four of these, and have tested all four, so it's not just an isolated problem. The other problem, aside from the scratchiness on the paper, is the tips dry out, requiring several "warm up lines" before you can even hope for a solid black line. Instead, you get a grey line inconsistent line, because the ink has dried in the tip, and it needs to be heated up before new ink will flow past the dried ink. You'd like the 'pen engineers' at Pilot would know their product well enough to realize... that tip? I needs to be covered. Always wear protection, pen friends. Even under ideal conditions, the ink flow rate of this pen is sub-par, and there are gaps in the lines when writing fast cursive.

Personal Pen Ranking: The Cavalier Hi-Tec-C metal body remains the best pen I've ever seen or used, then the cheap G-TEC when you don't care if you lose a pen but think plastic is cool, then there's this 'slim knock' abomination that tantalizes with the promise of pen glory, but stabs you in the soul with betrayal every time you use it.

Not recommended. Will not purchase again. Sorry Pilot, you struck out with this one, for me.
