First off, let me say..., December 21, 2010
First off, let me say that JetPens is one of the best retailers online or
otherwise I have ever dealt with. Even when a review is unfavorable, they still
post it. I cannot say this about everyone. Service is swift and items are well
packaged. They have great prices and many unique items.
As far as Fuyu-Gaki ink, it is wonderful. It has a deep, rich tone to it. Great
for getting others attention. I have been using it in my Pelikan M205 with a BB
nib. Great saturation. Have not noticed a lot of shading though. even on 80 gram
Rhodia or 90 gram Clairefontaine paper. Maybe it's not supposed to. If you are
using an inexpensive paper, do not expect to be able to use the backside.
I have also tried it in my Large Delta Dolce Vita with a fine nib. Very nice,
wet line even with a fine nib.
One thing I don't understand is the translation from Japanese to English on the
names of the ink. I have seen this ink called Japanese Sweet Persimmon but also
Winter Persimmon. I have noticed this on some of the other Iroshizuku inks as
well.
Whatever you call it, call it great.

The new ink from pilot..., June 25, 2010
The new ink from pilot writes a wet line. I have a Pelikan 205 clear
demonstrator that is sometimes iffy with ink once it is filled. I do not have
that problem now with the new pilot ink. The pen writes the first time, all the
time. I have the purple-blue ink. Nice color.

This is a great color...., May 29, 2012
This is a great color. Depending on paper it's anything from a deep dark
orange to a very crisp red orange to a interesting shade of red.. It is a
beautiful color for peer reviewing and mocking up documents. Easy to see and
not as offensive as red.

One of the few inks in..., January 26, 2012
This review is from Pilot Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink - 50 ml Bottle - Murasaki-shikibu Lady Murasaki Shikibu (Purple)
One of the few inks in this brand that I give 4 stars instead of 5. The ink goes
on beautifully, but as it dries, the color becomes a little flat in shade. The
other colors in this brand have had intense colors, but this is one of the few
that I prefer from a relatively fine nib [OM] as opposed to my larger B or OBB
nibs. Gorgeous while wet, but again, a tad pastel as it dries. Just dull enough
that it may be work appropriate in some offices.
The behavior matches that of other shades in this brand. Nice flow, behaves well
on a variety of papers. I'm using this in expensive pens and no staining or nib
creep so far.
I'll buy more, I think, but not as quickly as the "purer" colors in the rest of
the line.
