This is a nice chocolate-toned brown with the slightest hint of redness. Not very dark, but not a light brown either. The shading is nice and it's thick and smooth like the rest of the Iroshizuku ink.

This review is from Pilot Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink - 50 ml Bottle - Murasaki-shikibu Lady Murasaki Shikibu (Purple)
One of the few inks in this brand that I give 4 stars instead of 5. The ink goes on beautifully, but as it dries, the color becomes a little flat in shade. The other colors in this brand have had intense colors, but this is one of the few that I prefer from a relatively fine nib [OM] as opposed to my larger B or OBB nibs. Gorgeous while wet, but again, a tad pastel as it dries. Just dull enough that it may be work appropriate in some offices.

The behavior matches that of other shades in this brand. Nice flow, behaves well on a variety of papers. I'm using this in expensive pens and no staining or nib creep so far.

I'll buy more, I think, but not as quickly as the "purer" colors in the rest of the line.

This review is from Pilot Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink - 50 ml Bottle - Fuyu-syogun Winter Shogun (Light Cool Gray)
This shade of Iroshizuku is a beautiful shade of a dark blue with a very subtle, sophisticated touch of green. Works beautifully in my Lamy 2000. Solid and not too flashy, and it is suitable for formal business documents

This review is from Pilot Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink - 50 ml Bottle - Ku-jaku Peacock (Deep Turquoise Blue)
My first order from JetPens & my first bottle of Pilot Iroshizuku ink. The ink color is far more beautiful than samples I've seen, richer than the box label shown and darker than the ink seen in pictures, a true Deep Turquoise with a touch of green. The name Peacock is fitting as this color is very close to the deep bluish-green seen in male peacock feathers. Bottle itself is a work of art in glass, very heavy and well mastered glasswork. Order arrived 2 days after shipping, clear across the continent, fast shipping. Thanks, JetPens, I will be back!

This review is from Pilot Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink - 50 ml Bottle - Take-sumi Bamboo Charcoal (Black)
I just received by bottle last night. Usual great service from JetPens. I immediately filled by Namki Falcon fine point. I tried writing on Clairefontaine Linicolor, Moleskine and even post-it-note paper. All I can say is WOW!

The ink is as dark as others I have tried such as Aurora Black, Noodler's Black and Borealis Black. It also writes as smooth as the Sailor Nano black ink.

This review is from Pilot Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink - 50 ml Bottle - Murasaki-shikibu Lady Murasaki Shikibu (Purple)
This ink is named after the famous Heian era author, Murasaki Shikibu. The word 'murasaki' refers to a shade of purple, perhaps violet or wisteria. The ink certainly looks very different when wet, as the other reviewer noted. It is much darker, and dries to a slightly lighter shade, similar to J. Herbin's Violette Pensee. I like it.

This review is from Pilot Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink - 50 ml Bottle - Chiku-rin Bamboo Forest (Yellow Green)
Behaves beautifully in nib sizes ranging from B to OBBB. Runs a little darker in the narrower nib, fantastic shading the wider the nib. I was worried this color would be too light, but it's just barely dark enough for letters or journals. Flow is excellent. A very well-behaved ink. Haven't left it long term in a demonstrator or clear ink window to check for staining, but I'd rate this very close to the J. Herbin inks for maintenance and safety in high end pens.

I'm really enjoying this entire series of inks. Haven't found a bad one yet and I'm up to 8 different colors in this brand.

This review is from Pilot Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink - 50 ml Bottle - Chiku-rin Bamboo Forest (Yellow Green)
Another winner in the Iroshizuku line. I love this color so much. It's lighter than I usually go for, but it's such a happy color that I can't help but like it...and look for places where I can use it. I have 2 pens inked with it now. In my flex-nibbed gusher, this does show some feathering and bleedthrough on cheap paper. With my Maruman paper (also from Jet Pens) it is beyond incredible, just really beautiful...like new grass growing in the spring :) In my drier-nibbed pens, chiku-rin is as solid as any Iro ink, no feathering, no bleedthrough. This is just a joy to use.

I am quite pleased with this ink that I have been using in my Namiki Vanishing Point (a wonderful "daily driver" fountain pen, by the way) for nearly a year. It is a color and ink that somehow manages to be subtle, delicate and vibrant at the same time. Admittedly more expensive than any other ink I have bought or used, I have not regretted the purchase for a moment. I shall almost certainly be ordering more from jetpens.com when I run low.

This ink is one of my favorites because it is a lovely color and it makes mediocre pens write like fine ones. There are some pens that I only like with this ink. It's silky smooth.

I saw the owner of Classic Fountain Pens using this ink to demo his Pelikan Blue o' Blue fountain pen and I fell in love with the color. After getting it from JetPens, I am not only thrilled with the color, I am thrilled with the performance of the ink.

Great saturation and shading. Very deep red color. Looks great on my moleskine's off-white paper.

This review is from Pilot Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink - 50 ml Bottle - Fuyu-gaki Persimmon (Vermilion Red Orange)
First off, let me say that JetPens is one of the best retailers online or otherwise I have ever dealt with. Even when a review is unfavorable, they still post it. I cannot say this about everyone. Service is swift and items are well packaged. They have great prices and many unique items.

As far as Fuyu-Gaki ink, it is wonderful. It has a deep, rich tone to it. Great for getting others attention. I have been using it in my Pelikan M205 with a BB nib. Great saturation. Have not noticed a lot of shading though. even on 80 gram Rhodia or 90 gram Clairefontaine paper. Maybe it's not supposed to. If you are using an inexpensive paper, do not expect to be able to use the backside.

I have also tried it in my Large Delta Dolce Vita with a fine nib. Very nice, wet line even with a fine nib.

One thing I don't understand is the translation from Japanese to English on the names of the ink. I have seen this ink called Japanese Sweet Persimmon but also Winter Persimmon. I have noticed this on some of the other Iroshizuku inks as well.

Whatever you call it, call it great.

Deep, vivid blue. This is not as purple as the box color might lead you to believe. This is a good blue that is bright and saturated. It's not too far different from LAMY blue ink and J. Herbin's Eclat de Saphir

This review is from Pilot Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink - 50 ml Bottle - Kon-peki Deep Azure Blue (Deep Blue)
I have 9 or more different shade of blue ink in my collection from J herbin to Diamine. So far, in my opinion, Kon Peki is one of the best blue that I ever use. I use this ink with my Tombow Carbon 101 Medium nib. Very smooth and bright but not too bright. It's really hard to explain, very pleasant to the eyes. Although Pilot Iroshizuku is one of the most expensive ink, it worth every penny. Recommended!

This review is from Pilot Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink - 50 ml Bottle - Ku-jaku Peacock (Deep Turquoise Blue)
I've had this ink for about a week now and I'm really pleased with it. I bought the "Pilot Prera Clear Body Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - Translucent Light Blue Accent" to use it with. The color is great. Just the right amount of green to go with this hue of blue. The ink flows very well, with little to no breaks in line at all. The glass container it comes in is also very beautiful. It's thick and heavy and the design of it is very attractive. Overall I do have to say I'm very happy with it. I would definitely recommend it.

I've tried many different blues, J. Herbin Saphire and Periwinkle, Pilot's Blue, Parker Blue, and even Platinum Blue Black. This is by far the best ink I have ever used. It flows great, and the color is unbeatable. I need to use blue for office work, and this makes my writing so much more enjoyable. Highly recommended.

This review is from Pilot Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink - 50 ml Bottle - Yu-yake Sunset (Burnt Orange)
This is most likely my favorite color from the selection of wonderful colors. It has intense shading and saturation properties, dries quite quickly, and is amazing ti write with. I am not as familiar with how different pens and different inks work together as many other fountain pen users. But anytime I buy a new pen and have issues with the ink I choose to put in it first (other than this brand) I will fill it up with a color from this line and all of my troubles fade away. I can't say enough good things about the ink. I was somewhat hesitant to purchase my first bottle due to the hefty price tag (in comparison to many other inks). But the beauty of the bottle is what sold me. Now I can say that I would rather spend the money on this than spend $7 or $8 on a bottle of J.Herbin (or most other popular inks). I feel like I get a better deal going this route. I will definitely buy many more bottles as they come out with more colors.

Kon-peki is tied for my absolute favorite ink and has been for 2 years now. It will always be in my pen cabinet and in my fountain pens. It's beautiful, well-behaved. The best ink out there, in my opinion.

Nice chocolate brown color, smooth writing ink with no feathering and no bleed through on good paper. A little pricey but most quality items are. You can find a similar color and quality in Herbin inks.

This review is from Pilot Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink - 50 ml Bottle - Fuyu-gaki Persimmon (Vermilion Red Orange)
The new ink from pilot writes a wet line. I have a Pelikan 205 clear demonstrator that is sometimes iffy with ink once it is filled. I do not have that problem now with the new pilot ink. The pen writes the first time, all the time. I have the purple-blue ink. Nice color.
