This color was purchased...

This color was purchased in order that I could write a condolence letter to a
Japanese friend. Gray ink is often used for this purpose in Japan to express a
thought that the ink has faded with the tears of the letter writer.
So...Pilot ink is my absolute favorite. For my everyday use, the Pilot Standard
inks are preferred. For letter writing or more special personal use, Iroshizuku
Shin-Kai is my choice. Given that preference, I selected this gray for the
purpose noted. It really does not disappoint, as I knew that it would not. I
wrote my note with a Namiki pen purchased long ago in Japan on Clairefontaine
Triomphe paper. Other than my atrocious handwriting, the result was excellent.
I would hope not to have to write many condolence notes, so the 15ml is
sufficient, but for those who want a very special gray ink, this is one that you
should consider. Should the need arise, heaven forbid, I would buy this ink
