Enjoy the wonderful colors and performance of Pilot Iroshizuku inks in a convenient, miniature size! Iroshizuku is a line of luxurious inks created by Pilot to reflect the beautiful natural scenery of Japan. The 15 ml bottles are a perfect way to sample the wide range of Iroshizuku ink colors. They're also great if you already know your favorite colors but prefer a smaller size rather than the 50 ml bottles. Like their larger siblings, these inks feature an attractive, elegantly crafted glass bottle. These inks are available as individual bottles or as coordinated three-bottle boxed sets.

Lovely neutral ink color...

Lovely neutral ink color -- nice alternative to black. I used this ink with a calligraphy nib (Zebra G) and no feathering and was able to create fine hairlines.

This color was purchased in order that I could write a condolence letter to a Japanese friend. Gray ink is often used for this purpose in Japan to express a thought that the ink has faded with the tears of the letter writer.
So...Pilot ink is my absolute favorite. For my everyday use, the Pilot Standard inks are preferred. For letter writing or more special personal use, Iroshizuku Shin-Kai is my choice. Given that preference, I selected this gray for the purpose noted. It really does not disappoint, as I knew that it would not. I wrote my note with a Namiki pen purchased long ago in Japan on Clairefontaine Triomphe paper. Other than my atrocious handwriting, the result was excellent. I would hope not to have to write many condolence notes, so the 15ml is sufficient, but for those who want a very special gray ink, this is one that you should consider. Should the need arise, heaven forbid, I would buy this ink again.

My favorite gray ink....

My favorite gray ink. It's dark enough to be clearly seen even written with EF-nibs, but also light and calming pleasant tint. Not saying about wow-glass-bottle that looks awesome on the table =) Pure aesthetics!
