- Like all the 0.38 pens in this range it has a nice fine nib and leaves a delicate but clear line without being wavery or scratchy. It might feel a bit too fastidious for writing but is fine for drawing, which is why I bought it.

- This is meant to be a dark red but is clearly more of a purple. Not even a coolly-toned maroon, but rather a warm, slightly neutral purple. :/
- Also it's the first Pilot Juice gel pen I've bought that isn't properly water resistant. When going over the lines with a light paintbrush and water, the colour did bleed, and gave a faint (purple) wash. Most of the line stayed put though which is better than nothing, but not as good as I'd hoped.

Not all pens from this range perform equally, so experimentation with different colours seems necessary. I bought a few Pilot Juice gel pens and this was the only disappointment among them. The 'coffee brown however' was perfect.

Love, Love, Love.

Japanese fine-point pens will be the death of me, but it will be a beautiful ending to my life. I first encountered the Pilot Juice series at work (I am an instructor at a tutoring center), when our lovely boss gave us new correcting pens. I fell in love with the neatness and super-fine points of these babies, not to mention that they write wonderfully (no skipping!!!). They may use gel ink, but the dry time is pretty fast given that they're extra fine; I've never had any issues with smudging. If you are an artist, they're perfect for quick sketches! The color also builds up, so you can create many layers of color with just one pen. I ended up buying five of them from JetPens. Here's a tip for purchasing some of your own:

Individual pens and pen sets have the same price per pen. If you like to choose your colors, I recommend picking your own favorites and just buying them separately. If you like pen sets, then choose the pen sets. I personally only chose the colors I really wanted at the beginning, but I will most likely buy some more soon. Also, as I did buy individual pens, you'll see this review on a select few colors on this site.

Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys fine-point pens.

I've loved my Sarasa gel pens but wanted to see how the Juice stacks up against them. I'm very happy with the ink color, and the flow. No problems whatsoever. I will say though that I still much prefer the look of my Sarasas (love the color on the clip whereas the Pilot clip is clear), but if that doesn't bug you, this pen's a good choice!

Lovely color and smooth writer, until it stopped flowing completely, about 20% of the way through the refill.

I love the clip though, so I just put a .38 G2 refill in it and kept trucking.

I like this pen. I don't know why everyone has been leaving bad reviews for the other colors. The only "issue" I have is that the point is every bit of "very fine." If you like more of a medium line, this is not your pen. However, it is not a big deal. Otherwise, the pen is comfortable and writes well.
