DescriptionSpecificationsFrequently Asked Questions
Juice up your notes with Pilot's Juice gel ink pens. The Juice series is a collection of brilliantly colorful pens, all of them containing pigment-based ink. Pigmented ink is water-resistant and fade-resistant, ensuring that your vivid colors stick around for a long time. The pens can write on most photographs, and the pastel and metallic colors are fun to try on dark papers. Attach your pen to your notebook using the sturdy spring-loaded clip. Or if you prefer, string a chain through the hole in the clip, then hang the pen from your bag or attach playful charms. (The chain in the photo is not included.)

This set contains 12 colors: Red, Coral Pink, Baby Pink, Apricot Orange, Orange, Apple Green, Green, Light Blue, Blue, Blue Black, Grape, and Black.

My previous favorite gel pens were the Uniball UM-151s because they had waterproof ink, sturdy cone tips, and nice rubberized grips, but they're a little expensive. The Pilot Juice have similar characteristics and are slightly cheaper so I decided to take a chance on them.

Overall I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. The pens write smoothly (I, at least, haven't noticed any scratchiness) and, while the ink isn't 100% waterproof (a small amount will run off when soaking in water) it's very very close. They do feel a little cheaper and lighter than the UM-151s, but that's to be expected at ~75% of the price. The case is obviously flimsier than the hard plastic one used on the UM-151s but it's actually held up pretty well to being banged around in my backpack everyday. And although I thought the holes for looping in lanyards on the clip was ridiculous at first, it ended up being really useful for tying them up next to sign-up sheets and the like.

My only problem is the inclusion of apple green and blue-black. The former is too light to be read at the 0.38mm thickness and pretty much useless. The blue and blue-black are both usable pens, but the colors are very very similar in real life, and I didn't see the point in having both of them. I ended up buying a leaf green and violet pen to replace them so the set is perfect for me now, but I wish they'd be included in the first place.

I really enjoy these pens! I have been using them for about a month now for taking notes and filling in my planner, and I can't say there is anything that I don't like. The spring loaded clip is genius, almost all the colors (except apple green) are beautiful and saturated. They are only mildly scratchy with regular notebook paper, but when used with higher quality paper, like Apica or Rhodia, almost no scratch at all. My favorite is the black, I'm pretty sure it's the darkest black I've found. The grip is very comfortable as well. Even the click mechanism is especially smooth! These are great pens at a great price. :)
