This is my favorite everyday pen. The ink flows very well, and the fine tip is truly fine, unlike Lamy Safari's fine. Very solid brass construction, painted black. The black finish has rubbed off the back end of the pen a little, but I don't mind. Note that the "crocodile" section is not textured, but just a patterned plastic section around the middle. When I got it, I was afraid that this could peel or wear off, but it hasn't.

A fantastic pen for the price. I've tried inexpensive fountain pens before, only to be disappointed by the experience. The Pilot Metropolitan, in contrast, is a delight to use. It's quickly become one of my favorite pens.

This is a fantastic pen! Flows nicely with Pelican 4k black and J Herbin pearle noir. Has a nice heft to it, much heavier than the Lamy Safari and is quickly becoming my favorite pen so far.
