DescriptionSpecifications
Pilot's Metropolitan pen is a sleek, smooth-shaped pen great for everyday use. The stylish body features a matte, metallic violet finish over a brass barrel with chrome accents. A classy yet undeniably wild leopard print pattern decorates the band near the cap. The slightly wide body and good weightiness make it easy to hold and use, and thus a perfect match for fountain pen novices as well as seasoned users. The pen comes with a black gift box, one black ink cartridge, and an aerometric converter (squeeze converter).

I love this pen to pieces....

I love this pen to pieces. It looks great, has a good weight, and the fine nib writes smoothly (line thickness similar to an 0.4mm roller ball) with only a slight amount of scratching on a Field Notes memo book.

I previously had the medium nib "dot" version of this pen, and it wrote about an 0.7 mm equivalent line thickness and bled a bit on the Field Notes memo book. I recommend both versions.

I'm still using the ink cartridge it came with.

I adore this pen. I originally bought the medium, which is nice, but a fine nib is so much nicer. Good heft and writes very smoothly. This is now my everyday pen.

I have used several more expensive fountain pens in the past, and this one really impressed me both from the standpoint of its design and the quality of the writing experience. As soon as I started using this pen, I immediately wanted to order more of them. I would highly recommend this pen!

Great go to pen. My only issue is the box came so bent I had to break it to open it.

A littler back story....

A littler back story. Hi, my name is Philippe, and I am an addict. I love writing instruments. My entire life revolves around creativity and pen and ink. I enjoy a clean, fine line and expect my mind block to be the reason I have to put down a pen, not the pen itself. The Pilot Metropolitan fountain pen is a great example of a pen that will go as long as you can create. It is a good weight and offers a smooth controlled ink flow. I accidentally ordered the purple with leopard accent instead of the basic black, but I love it anyway. In fact, I am here to acquire the black and the chrome versions. I have only used Waterman Nostalgia Serenity Blue in it, so I cannot speak to other inks.
