Pilot's Metropolitan pen is a sleek smooth-shaped pen great for everyday use. The body features a stylish matte finish over a brass barrel with chrome accents. A quietly sophisticated pattern of dots decorates the band near the cap. The slightly wide body and good weightiness make it easy to hold and use, and thus a perfect match for fountain pen novices as well as seasoned users. The pen comes with a box, one black ink cartridge, and an aerometric converter (squeeze converter).

This is a beautiful pen, it's a little wet for my liking, but it writes very well. Very well made, but if you don't have sturdy paper it will feather.

Got one of these for my daughter as an xmas gift, it was so good I had to get one for myself. I'd rate it 10 /10 on every aspect except the color pattern which is a bit too wild, but not offensively so. This is an excellent pen overall!

I just tried this pen (thank you JetPens for fast shipping :D) and I have to agree with other reviewers on the smoothness of the nib in this pen. It writes as well as all fountain pens should write.

I rate this one as better than a lot of other pens I have that cost considerably more than what this Metropolitan costs. The size of the pen is perfect for me. It is not weighty, so your hand should not tire quickly with it.

I don't know how Pilot can make such a remarkable pen at this price point, but I am glad that they do.

If you are pondering purchase, the other reviews of this pen are accurate. It's a must have...and for the price it makes for a great, everyday fountain pen.

This pen has the smoothest nib! One of the best writing pens I have used. Thanks again for such great service.

I haven't had a fountain pen since the nib on my old one (a high school graduation gift from 1989 (!)) bent when a friend borrowed it and pressed too hard. I figured this would be a good re-entry level pen, going by the reviews. Wow - I may never use a ballpoint pen again. This requires hardly any pressure to write with and glides across even cheap looseleaf paper (although it does bleed through a bit, but this is the paper's fault, not the pen's). I'm using the cartridge it came with, but I also bought a converter and a bottle of Herbin's Lierre Sauvage ink to try later.
