This is my third Pilot Metropolitan. I love them, very reasonable price for a pen that writes very well and looks good too. The color shown is accurate - it'a a pale pinky red. Deep red/burgundy was the color I was looking for, but this color has grown on me. I keep it filled with Oxblood Diamine Fountain Pen Ink.

I may be biased--the Pilot Metro is the first fountain pen I bought. I do not have any plans to buy pens as an investment or ever spend over $50. I think this pen is perfect. I enjoy the weight of it and the length. It is a great looking pen--comes in a nice case with a refillable reservoir, although I have just been using the disposable. Personally I see no need for another fountain pen, unless maybe a finer nib size is needed. The price is so reasonable that I have bought several as gifts. I have purchased several other pens in similar to slightly higher price ranges. This one outshines them all, in my amateur opinion.

Beautiful red color on the pen body, love the finish too. Comes in a case, has a good weight to it and writes smooth. I want to collect them all. It makes a wonderful gift for someone that loves stationary and wants to start with fountain pens.

This is the second Pilot Metropolitan pen I've purchased. It is easily the best value fountain pen I've ever bought. The price is reasonable, and the pen writes beautifully on every surface, from fancy Rhodia notebooks to plain copy paper. The ink flows smoothly, and the nib is flexible and adapts itself to every surface, so there are no blots, and the pen never feels scratchy. It writes as well, if not better, than more expensive fountain pens. In fact, I use it far more than my expensive ones because I'm not afraid to tuck this into my pen case and take it along with me. I cannot recommend this pen highly enough!

Got this as one of my first pens. It's beautiful. I love it so much. I actually like this better than the Prera.

The fine nib is really fine, and it writes well with my J Herbin noire ink, but with all my other inks it doesn't write as well. I'm thinking it's the super fine nib.

But AWESOME pen for starters. You can get multiples for the price it's going for. If I didn't want to collect other pens, I would have aimed to own a set of these.
