I'm fairly new to fountain pens but I think beginner impressions could be helpful for others. The pen itself was smaller than I expected and fits in a small pocket very nicely. It feels sturdy and solid. With the cap on the back, it has a nice feel in the hand with pretty good balance for my small to medium size hands.
After taking off the yellow ring and inserting the cartridge, you get to watch the ink flow to the nib. It's a wonderfully fun little perk that just looks cool. The ink flowed smooth and had a nice wet feel writing in my Rhodia dot pad. I spent a little less than an hour writing and didn't notice any skipping. I'm rather impressed by the smoothness of nib on paper for such an inexpensive instrument. I'm so glad I bought 2 since I'd have a hard time leaving this one at the office if I didn't have one at home. Even at that I may have to buy more colors.

Sweet cutie of a pen!...
Sweet cutie of a pen! My son actually was so fascinated by watching the ink flow that he grabbed it and wrote with it! He's 6 - and this pen appeals to adults and kids. The pen has just the right amount of girth to it - despite being a pocket pen. I have MS and mourn not being able to write with slim pocket pens.
I even flew with this one (forgot to take it out of my Nomadic case) and did not encounter any leaking. (went through 8 or 9 take offs)
Very handy for traveling when one cannot break out a giant notebook as this pen will allow the user to gracefully take notes in smaller notebooks. Good fine nib that is a pleasure to write with. Found it to be much smoother than the Preppy. Colors are cute, too, between my son and myself we own quite a few pens from the Petit series.
They also make great stocking stuffers for the writers in your family- this is a stocking stuffer people actually enjoy since one must be quite a hardened individual not to break out into a big grin seeing this cutie. I love getting people hooked on pens and paper, and this inexpensive beauty allows you to do that.
Be careful when letting someone 'borrow' it for a second!

These are supposed to...
These are supposed to be disposable, but don't do it! You can pull off the cartridge and refill it with an eye dropper or syringe, and you can also buy refills. The cartridge holds more ink than the standard tiny cartridges.
The newer model, in white, had nubs on the end to keep the cap posted, but I don't see this one for sale anywhere, too bad.
This is the same nib as on the Pilot Varsity, but that one is medium, and this one is a nice fine, more toward extra fine, which I love. Great purse or pocket pen, because it is light, and if you lose it, you can quickly replace it. It comes in an array of colors, and I wish these were sold as sets, because they make great gifts
The clip can break off pretty easily. Oh well. I am just careful. Enjoy this cutie of a pen!

This is a great little pen: you can put in your pocket, hell, you could smuggle it into prison.

These pens have a remarkably...
These pens have a remarkably good nib for a small pocket pen. The cap posts securely and fits securely over the nib with a water-tight seal greatly reducing drying out of the nib. The cartridges are small but have a good strong seal to the pen compared to the "standard" cartridges in many other brands. The opening of the cartridge allows easy eye-dropper refilling from bottled ink. I have never had a leak from these pens. I have never had a crack in the plastic though carried in a pants pocket for months. I do prefer Noodler's inks and they work very well in these pens. If I were to give one small suggestion to Pilot about the colors of the plastic clips, the difference between black, blue-black, and blue is pretty subtle; it would be nice if they were more-distinguishable. Such a minor point for such a fine pen at a very reasonable price!
