The Pilot Prera Clear, also known as the Prera Iro-Ai, has a beautifully clean look and writes luxuriously. The acrylic body is accented with tasteful pops of transparent color, and the light weight is easy on your hand. Every last detail of the pen is well-made, down to the cushioned click you feel when closing the cap. Fill the pen with the ink of your choice using the pre-installed converter, or insert an ink cartridge. The transparent body lets you admire the ink and monitor remaining ink levels. The pen feels very well made, has an ergonomically light weight and of course, the alloy nib is delightfully thin enough that you can use it for everyday writing.

This pen comes with a black ink cartridge and a CON-50 converter pre-installed.

For help with using a converter, see our blog post.

I picked up one of these when I was in Osaka, Japan. I love this pen. I have the fine nib, and it's beautifully fine. The lid posts nicely, with a soft click. Exquisite, especially for the price.

Wonderful pen to write with. Paired with the iroshizuku fuyu-syogun ink from the same order, it's been the only pen I've used since I got it a week ago.

Very solid pen. The nib is a little bit smoother than Safari EF nib in my opinion, and a little bit thinner. I worried that the transparent plastic may be the crappy kind, but I was relieved when I received it. The plastic is very solid, and thick. Feels good in hand.

I've had the Pilot Prera for a few hours now and I'll give my first impressions. The pen is small, but is of adequate size when posted and feels nicely balanced when writing. Also, the cap has a very solid feel when closing, which is a priority when the cap is not a screw on. The fine nib lays down a very fine line, which I also using for drawing. It really is that fine! The nib itself was perfectly aligned and I have found that it is extremely smooth when writing/drawing at various angles and is not scratchy at all. Finally, the price point is acceptable for this level of pen and I would not hesitate to purchase another.

Quick shipping and a great deal on this pen. If you're looking for a great daily use pen the Prera is hard to beat. When capped, if fits nicely in the pocket of my computer bag and when posted fits just fine in the hand. I've found the pen to be a very comfortable and reliable writer.

Be warned, the nib sizes run on the small sizes compared to my Cross pens. I knew that going in but was still surprised.
