The Pilot Vanishing Point Decimo, also known as the Capless Decimo in Japan, is an elegant model of practicality and style. It features the same convenient rectractable design and interchangeable nib units as its larger cousin, the Pilot Vanishing Point, with a slimmer, lighter design that makes it a great choice if you find heavier pens fatiguing. The pen's creamy, pearlescent body color is another distinguishing feature, achieved by painting multiple layers of lacquer over the pen's brass barrel. The pen features a rhodium plated 18K gold nib and can be refilled with the cartridges and converters listed under Recommended Refills/Parts.

The pen comes with a gift box and one black ink cartridge. A converter is not included.

This is my first capless/vanis...
June 4, 2015
This is my first capless/vanishing point. I like fountain pens that feel light when I write for more than a few minutes and I was concerned that the vanishing point may be too heavy for my preferences. When I realized that Jetpens was selling the Decimo I had to have it NOW. Estetically, the pen is very nice. The dark red is slightly pearly and just beautidul. The pen's appearence is classy, but it does not look or feel fragile..
The Decimo may still be slightly heavier than the fountain pens I love the most for actual hour-long writing, but this is barely noticeble. It feels good in my hand, very well balanced, and I just like holding it. I bought it with a Fine nib and it is REALLY fine, surely the finest nib I have. Nevertheless, it is amazingly smooth and behave well on a varierty of papers and with the inks I have used so far. I am still getting used writing with it and have not used it for long writing sessions, but the clip does not bother me.
Overall I am extremely pleased with this pen, so much so that I am considering buying a second one (I should be able to convince myself that I do really need another Decimo witha medium nib!).
Negatives: 1) It comes without the converter that I bought separatly. I think a pen of this level and cost should come with a converter; 2) There was no warranty card in the box. It may very well be because has not been packaged for the US market, but I have not inquired with Jetpens yet. Neither of the two negaatives is a deal breaker for me: I wll buy another sooner or later.
