Pilot Young Rex Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - Red Body with Gold Trim

I have to admit, I was initially put off by the light weight of this pen and the fact that it doesn't appear to have a metal body, but I loaded a cartridge into it and must say that it writes like a much more expensive pen - doesn't skip, dry out, or anything like that. Jet Pens was also very fast in their turnaround time, and I plan to buy more from them in the future

Pros:
-Writes smooth
-Lightwieght
-Grip that doesn't slip easily(Resin coating, not plastic)
-Can write thicker or thinner lines with change in pressure(to some degree)
-Not a bad starter pen
-Uses pilot fountain pen refills

Cons:
-Sometimes the ink skips (when scribbling quickly,etc.)
-Maybe a bit too lightweight...
-Unlike most upper end Pilot fountain pens, the nib isn't gold(it's a special alloy,instead)
-Expensive...

Summary:
I'd suggest in as a gift for a pen lover/collector. If you like how it looks and don't care about the lack of weight, then buy it. It works dependably (as far as I have used it).
