If you're an artist who..., July 30, 2009
If you're an artist who likes to use any sort of wash over an inked drawing, I can recommend this ink, particularly with the Carbon Pen by Platinum. It is, indeed waterproof. I did a sketch and submersed it in the sink. The lines remained crisp. This is great news if you like waterproof ink but find it challenging to carry a bottle and dip pen around with you everywhere.

I put it in a new Platinum Preppy. It writes a smooth black line, but not as smooth as my other Preppies with plain Preppy ink. It feels like the ink itself has some texture. So far, no problems -- it starts right up even after a few days idle.

Love it! I used it to refill my Platinum Preppy Fountain Pen and it works great :) I love how the ink looks when you slant the paper.. it has a certain finish to it I can't explain lol Anyway, I've noticed that it doesn't smudge when I use a highlighter! It's very smooth and not that pricey!

Superb waterproof black ink. I still write a few checks and ordinary non-waterproof ink would not be good for that. Along with the Platinum Carbon Desk Pen, I ordered a pack of these cartridges and am extremely pleased. The ink writes VERY black and dries quickly. Although I am not left handed the quick drying attribute would be a huge plus for those who are.

As for the waterproof aspects of the ink, they are fantastic. I wrote "The quick brown fox, etc." on a piece of paper, put it in a sink full of water and left it there. When I came back 15 minutes later, the paper was sodden but the writing was as crisp and dark as when I wrote it. I then crumpled the paper and squeezed the excess water from it. When I reopened the paper, the words were still crisp and dark. In fact, the paper was falling apart but the ink never did. Having this ink in my Platinum desk pen and stand is a real winner for me. When I have to jot a quick note the pen is ready to go and the permanency of the ink allows me to put the note in my breast pocket without having to worry about smudging or staining my shirt.
