These beautiful multi-pens are a true treasure from Asia. Since true lacquer work finds its origin in China and Japan, these countries have had a long history of creating beautifully ornamented lacquer pieces. The time consuming technique of applying layers of natural resin was once kept secret in Japan. An ornament, through this process, would develop a hard, durable yet beautiful finish that radiates a soft glow.

Japan has applied this highly developed skill of ornamentation and applied it to modern writing instruments. Among the beautiful pens, multi-pens and fountain pens available, you will find that Japan has a very special style that exemplifies Asian beauty. Such lacquer or Maki-e styles are not just decoration, they are a work of art.

This multi-pen has five beautiful designs available: a wise owl, a strong dragon, peaceful Sakura blossoms, and the elegant Cyclamen flower. All of these themes have a very prominent position in Japanese culture. The pen writes in smooth oil-based ink and includes a red pen, black pen and 0.5 mm mechanical pencil. Simply twist the pen body to rotate between the different writing instruments. The pen has a nice feel, weighs 20.4 g and is made of a brass body with a lacquer finish. Measures 132.5 mm long and has a maximum diameter of 11.2 mm.

I love this pen! I wish...

I love this pen! I wish all things in life were this functional and also beautiful as well. Got it for Christmas - wanted jewelry and got this instead - I felt like I got more than I asked for - the pen is like functional jewelry!
What a treat - Lovely art! One of the best things about this pen is the 0.7 mm ballpoints - the ink is really exceptional! Very smooth writing and produces nice lines. I have been a fan of the rotring lines of multipens for years, but their medium point ball point refills are often not smooth in writing and leave you wishing for something else. That is not the case here - the pen is great and I'll buy many refills to be sure.

While I love this multi-pen for it's beauty and utility, I found it has a design flaw. One of mine dropped from only about 3 feet above a hard floor, and this resulted in internal breakage of the plastic parts under the cap. This resulted in the whole thing falling apart. I considered very carefully if I could glue it back together, and it seems possible but not easy without some fixturing. There is a lot of stress involved with holding the clip on and with tension, borne by some rather delicate plastic parts. The impact from just a minor fall striking the metal cap can cause it to break.

I loved this pen so much I bought two, in case I ever needed a spare. Well, now I'm using my spare. Unfortunately, with the increased price and the design flaw, I'm not eager to buy a new spare. I think if it were under $40 I might buy another spare.

This is the best pen for the value of the money..and the art work is beautiful! I'm hooked! If you are a feng shui believer, this pen will bring you power and good luck. I use the dragon to help me ward of negativity throught the day. Jet Pens should get the multi pen in the phoenix model for women. The inks are beautiful (wish it came in extra fine ball point). This craft should be kept alive becuase if the world found out how wonderful this pen is, it would be sold out!

The key to this pen for women is the barrel size, when I write with this it doesn't cramp my hand. I also love the multi colors for my planner, easy to highlight urgent projects with the red or blue pen inks. Just wish that the ink came in a fine or extra fine line.

Thank you!

Nice pen, cool decorations, but really not worth the money. A lot lighter than I expected; the pencil/pen parts are not exceptional, but work well. Eraser is hard to get to because of the screw cap. Overall, in my opinion, really not worth $50.
